Alex POV

I wake up with two humans clinging onto me for dear life, one of which is radiating heat like no other.

That would be Sawyer, sweating like something fierce.

I peel Charlie off of me and work on getting Sawyer to let go of my shirt that she has balled up in her fist like I'll disappear if she doesn't.

"Stop momma!" She groans.

"Baby, I love you, but I need to get up."

She tightens her hold, "No! No getting up!"

"Hey. I know it's been a rough 36 hours, but you don't yell." I say firmly while running my hand through her hair.

I watch her crack an eye open and sigh, "Sorry momma."

I kiss her forehead and feel her let go, "Thanks baby. I'll be right back."

I grab my phone and head to the bathroom and think about what she said last night:

"I saw them, I talked to them. They said they fought, that they didn't want to leave me, momma."

I'm curious if she still wants to talk or if that was the sleepiness.

I finish brushing my teeth and walk back to the room and just watch Charlie and Sawyer.

Yesterday was such an emotional day for Sawyer. Did she have a vivid dream because of that? Really need Bree for this.

Me: Hey can you talk?

Almost immediately, my phone is ringing and I walk outside to the balcony so I can see them still.

I chuckle, "You know Sawyer jokes that I have the batline, but I'm really feeling that to be true."

She laughs, "Whats up?"

"Sawyer said something to me when she woke up crying last night. Wanted your thoughts."

"What did she say?" She asks.

"She said and I quote, "I saw them, I talked to them. They said they fought, that they didn't want to leave me, momma.""

I hear Bree sigh, "You sighed, what does that mean? Did she have a vivid dream? Was it the emotions? There's no way that..."

"Alex, you ever lose someone?"

"I mean. My grandparents, but I was young. And I didn't really have some profound relationship with them." I say.

"Alex listen very carefully to me. Believe me when I say that if she says she saw them and spoke to them then she saw them and spoke to them. I can't explain it any other way than I know what she's talking about."

My eyes widen, "Really?"

"Really." She says firmly.

"She said she wants to talk to me, but she was so clingy this morning and she woke up a heat box. I don't know how to navigate this!" I say.

"Hey. Deep breath. Yes you do. She's probably clingy because she did see them and she's already attached to you, she needs to feel close to you. And she's probably a heat box for the same reason or because she's feeling so much and it's manifesting that way. Alex, you got this, you know how I know?"

I sigh, "How?"

"Because you love that kid like you gave birth to her. Okay? You'll know what to say when she comes to you."

I nod to myself, "Okay. Thanks Bree."

"Anytime. Call me if you need me."

"Believe me, I will. Bye."
