Sawyer POV - Flashback July 12th 2010
"Daddy! Look at the lion!" I squeal and point.
He chuckles, "Looks cool! He's so big right? And what do lions say?"
I look at him, "ROOOOOOOAR!"
He laughs, "That's right, Sawyer!"
"Always be courageous like a lion, baby."
I look at my mommy, "I am, mommy!"
"Alright, let's keep moving, baby. We have a lot of ground to cover." Mommy says.
I smile and nod, then go to take off.
"Whoa, my ball of energy, hold my hand, have to stay close." Daddy says.
I look up at him, "Shoulders?"
He chuckles and picks me up, making me squeal.
He blows a raspberry on my cheek then hoists me up, "I love you, Sawyer."
I smile, "Love you, daddy!"
"Where to next, Sawyer?" Mommy says.
I stare at her, "Giraffes, mommy!!"
She chuckles, "Okay, baby."
We continue to wander through the zoo and eventually it's time to leave.
We walk into the gift shop and my eyes light up, "Bear!!"
"You want the bear?" Mommy asks me.
I turn and nod rapidly.
They laugh, "Okay. A special gift for our special girl."
I grab the bear and we go to pay.
While walking to the car, I yawn and snuggle the stuffed bear.
"Come here, baby. It's late." Daddy says and I walk to his arms.
I lean my head on his shoulder and slowly drift to sleep.
I wake up still in my car seat, confused. I can tell I'm upside down and my whole body aches. I feel my head and see red sticky stuff on my fingers, what is that? Do I have a boo boo? I'm still clutching into bear and my eyes start darting around. I realize that I'm still in the car. I look forward and see mommy and daddy sitting in their seats too.
"Mommy, daddy!" I cry out. I yell out again, this time starting to panic when they don't respond, what's wrong with them? "Mommy, Daddy wake up! Please wake up! I'm scared!"
"Hello?" I hear.
"Mommy! Daddy!" I cry.
I see a light and a fireman looking into the car.
"Hi sweetheart. Just stay still, okay? We're going to get you out. My name is Ryan."
I sniffle and squeeze bear, nodding my head.
"Want my mommy and daddy!" I cry.
He looks to the front then back to me, "We're going to get all three of you."
"Can you put your hands over your ears? It's going to get loud." He continues.
I look at him and nod, clapping my hands over my ears.
"You're such a good listener."
I nod, "Mommy and daddy say I have to listen to firemen or police officers."
