Alex POV
"Alright, Charlie, you're with Kate. Sawyer, you're with Bree, Taylor, and I. We'll reconvene on the other side of security."
I see everyone nod and we start unloading the bus.
Sawyer has her vest on and I grab her phone to give to her, "Here, baby. And remember, you cannot wear that through the machine, it has to come off. That's what Hannah said."
She nods, "Okay."
We stand in line and get to the end where I watch her take off the vest.
Bree looks at me, mouthing, "Calm down."
I nod. "Alright Taylor goes first, then, Bree, then you, and I'll go last."
"Got it." I can see that she's trying to pump herself up while also trying to keep her cool, which is agonizing for me to watch.
"Hey, give me your hand." She does and I start squeezing it just like Hannah showed me and I can see her physically relax.
I watch as Taylor and Bree go through and now it's Sawyer's turn. I hold my breath as I watch her close her eyes and finish up, Bree and Taylor grabbing her and giving her the vest and her phone.
I go through and find Charlie and Kate waiting. "Sawyer, you made it through the big machine!"
She nods and opens her arms for Charlie.
"Alright, let's get to our gate, babies." I say to them.
"Aye aye momma!" I hear Taylor mock me.
I swing my arm across her stomach, "Owww." She groans, "Don't mock me."
"Don't hurt me, you need me." She says.
"You joke, but I do, can't score without you. And my teenager will never learn algebra." I laugh.
"I can sit with Sawyer on the plane if you want a break." She says seriously.
"I appreciate that." As I say that, Sawyer looks back as if to make sure I'm still behind her. I give her a thumbs up and look at my watch, she needs to take the vest off.
We make it to the gate and I look at Charlie playing with the straps on her vest, "Sawyer, time to take it off."
"Can I have a few more minutes?" She asks.
"No, baby. I'm sorry. Hannah was very specific about how much time per hour you can have it."
She nods and takes it off, handing it to me. I see her pull the switch out and ask Kelsey to play with her.
"Hannah gave me an idea last night about Sawyer." Bree says next to me.
"Is that your idea of pillow talk? Talking about my kid?" Her eyes widen, "NO!"
I laugh, "I'm messing with you." I watch as she pouts. "Big baby, what was the idea?"
"You know she can only have the vest for like 30 minutes at a time, ideally, Hannah said 15 minutes." I nod.
"But we have our nike compression shirts. They aren't weighted so Hannah said she could wear one like a size smaller and see if that constant pressure is okay for her."
I smile, "This girlfriend of yours is pretty smart."
"NOT my girlfriend. Just a girl. That I like."
I laugh, "Whatever you say. It's a good idea, we can try it."
"Cool, I'll get one for her."
I nod.
I pull out my phone and start scrolling through social media. I see a story that pertains to myself and Sawyer and click on it.
