Chapter 61

Sawyer POV - November 11th

The plane lands and I smile.

"You excited to see momma and Charlie, baby?" Pops asks.

"Yeah! So excited! I've missed her and Charlie."

He chuckles, "Oh, I know."

The last week has been really difficult for me. I had two huge meltdowns at school, which no one was happy about.

I've been cleared to practice and do some of my sensory activities, but I'm still frustrated with my memory.

I had an appointment with Hannah and Bree who talked to momma about getting me a sensory swing to help me calm down when I'm overstimulated.

We get to the gate and I stand up with Maverick.

"Here baby, vest on." I grab it from pops and strap it on.

I'm bouncing on my feet as I wait for the line to move and I feel pops wrap one arm around my front and squeeze me, "Relax, okay? We will get to them."

I nod and we finally make it off the plane.

We walk down and grab our baggage then get into a rental car to make our way to the hotel.

We pull in and I'm practically vibrating. I hop out as soon as pops parks and grab Maverick who immediately is trying to calm me down.

"Alright baby, they should be in the lobby, go ahead." I smile and zoom away.

I get into the lobby and rapidly look for them, "Momma!"

I start moving towards her and crash into her.

"Whoa, hi baby!" She wraps her arms around me and squeezes me tight.

"Missed you momma, so happy to see you!" I ramble quickly.

She pulls back and holds my face, "Hey, deep breath, you're moving a little fast."

I smile, "Mmhmm, so fast! Where's Charlie?" I start looking for her.

"Wait. Wait baby. Just come here."

She pulls me in and gives me a lot of pressure, "Slow down, okay?"

I nod, "Okay, momma." I mumble.

After a few minutes, she lets me go, "Alright, you feel a little calmer?"

"Yeah. Sorry, momma."

"It's okay, you just have to read your cues baby. Help your body." She says.

Pops walks up, "Hi babe!"

"Hey you." I watch as they kiss and make a gagging noise.

Momma squeezes my cheeks, "Stop."

I smile, "SAWYER!"

I turn around and open my arms as Charlie crashes into me.

"Hi Charlie! I missed you so much!"

"Missed Sawyer! We cuddle?" She asks.

I nod rapidly, "Oh, yeah!"

"Alright, Sawyer, I checked us in so let's all go up and drop our stuff off."

I bob my head, "Okay. And I'm hungry."

"Okay so let's get some grub." He says.

I pull my chew necklace into my mouth and we get on the elevator.
