Sawyer POV - two weeks later

I bounce around the airport, "Hey baby, chill out, okay?"

"Can't! So excited to see momma!"

"Sawyer, hug?" I look down at Charlie and nod.

I scoop her up and squeeze her tight, "Thanks Charlie."

"I help you!" She squeals.

I nod, "You do."

"Look, there's momma!" Pops says.

"Momma momma momma!" Charlie and I yell.

She jogs towards us and wraps us up in a hug, "Hi my babies!!! Ugh I missed you both so so much."

She pulls back and leans in to kiss pops, "Hi babe, I missed you too."

"Alright, baggage claim!" Pops says.

"Let's go!" I say and run ahead with Charlie.

"Walk, baby!" I hear momma say.

I slow down and we wait for momma's stuff.

Once we grab it, we head to the car and I'm practically vibrating.

"Where's your vest, baby?"

I shrug, "I forgot it."

"You-" She starts.

"We can't find it, not forgot it, Sawyer." Pops says.

"Can't find it?" Momma asks.

I look down and nod, "Can't remember where I last had it."

"Well let's retrace your steps when we get home. You need it."

I bob my head, "I know."

We get home and I get out of the car to head inside.

"Alright, let's retrace. How long has it been missing?" She asks me.

"Yesterday." I sigh.

Her eyes widen, "Alright, where we're you yesterday. Did you have it with Rachel?"

I nod.

She turns and heads up the stairs and I hurry to catch up.

She opens my door and I close my eyes.

"SAWYER! This is a disaster!" She turns around and looks at me.

I shrug.

"Cleaned. Now. No wonder you can't find your vest. It's probably buried under all of this."

I feel frustration building, but try to reel it in.

"How did it get this messy?" She asks.

I shrug, "Don't know."

She stares at me, "Cleaned, Sawyer."

I bite my lip and nod then walk into my room.

I stare at my room, which admittedly is a disaster, but don't know where to start.

I flop onto my bed and Maverick hops up to cuddle into me.

I grab my headphones and put them in my ears, then close my eyes.

I feel someone shake my shoulder and my eyes shoot open.

I see momma looking mad and pull out my headphones.

"Sawyer! It's not music and sleep time! Your room needs to be cleaned!!"

I feel my frustration boil over, "NO!"
