The Joker stood in the doorway of Lucy's room, watching her repetively slap lights as they illuminated on a toy. She was smart indeed. Maybe he was being partial, but the Joker did hope that his son or daughter surpassed her. His intelligence combined with Alexis's was a sure win for a genius offspring.
Lucy looks up to see him, and the grin on her face spreads. "Daddy."
Still smiling, the Joker let's out a slight sigh. He walks into the room and kneels next to Lucy. "No sweetheart, I'm not daddy. I'm your uncle Joker."
Lucy's smile fades as she just stares at him for a long moment in confusion. The smile soon returns to her face. "No. Daddy."
"No honey," the Joker looks down, "Uncle. Like Uncle Jester. I'm Uncle Joker," he places his hand to his chest.
Lucy points a little finger at him, "You daddy."
The Joker again sighs, "I guess you'll figure it out soon enough my darling," he says and pulls her into his arms.

Her fingers go across the place where his eyebrows should have been. "Not Unk," she states, obviously pointing out that her uncle had eyebrows and her "father" didn't.
"You are too smart," the Joker taps her on the end of her little nose. "Which is why you must understand, I'm not really your daddy princess. You know how sometimes when we're reading bedtime stories, you close your eyes real tight and try to picture the story with your imagination?"
"Uh-huh," Lucy nods, obviously paying attention to what he was saying.
"Well, daddy pretended he was your daddy. But I'm not your daddy. I'm your Uncle J," he persists. The Joker watches as tears build up in Lucy's eyes. Her little bottom lip pouts. It made the Joker feel like a real piece of shit. "It's ok sweetie, you don't have to cry. I still love you and I'll always be here for you if you ever need me," he soothes her and wipes away her tears with his thumb.
Unbeknownst to the Joker, Jester stood in the doorway watching them. He heard everything the Joker had said. He didn't understand why he would be trying to tell Lucy the truth now. "Is she ok?" He can't help but ask as he sees his niece crying.
The Joker's head whips around to look at his twin, "How long have you been standing there spying on me?" He snaps at Jester.
"I-I wasn't spying. I just happened to walk by and saw Lucy crying, I thought she might have been hurt or something," Jester explains, lying of course.
The Joker stares, "She's fine doctor, nothing to concern yourself with."
"Whatever," Jester rolls his eyes, "I'm going out for a while. Alone. I don't need Ace to tag along, I'll be fine."
"Alone? Why is that brother? Is there something you don't want my number two seeing?" The Joker asks, his suspiciousness gets the better of him.
"No," Jester says trying to think fast of an excuse, "I just figured that since there's a hit out on you that you could use all the extra security you can get."
