Jake walks into the lab of Freeze's where his brother lays. Upon entering the room the Joker's head turns to face him. His eyes follow Jake as he approached his bed. Jake takes that as a very good sign. It showed a sustained thought pattern. Meaning that he had an attention span and it was quite good. Jake is hopeful for a full recovery.

Jake approaches the bed with a humble smile, "Hello Jack. My name is Jake," he says and searches for any signs of recognition on his brother's face. He had the Joker's attention, but the sight of his face didn't seem to be ringing any bells. "I'm the doctor who operated on you, and I'll be rehabilitating you. Don't worry, I'm going to make you all better. I just need you to want it, to fight."
The Joker's head tilts as his green brows slightly scrunch. It was as if he suddenly had questions. Jake could definitely see his wheels turning. He was trying very hard to make sense of things. Jake wonders what he's trying to understand? Was he wondering about the logistics of the surgery? Was he wondering about the way Jake looked? Did he seem familiar to him? Was he confused because Jake's words held no meaning? Or, could he actually comprehend them?
"Jack, do you understand what yes and no mean? You can say them without actually talking. If you move your head up and down like this," Jake demonstrates a nod, "it means yes. And if you shake your head like this," he demonstrates a head shake, "it means no. Can you do that? Can you show me if you understand what I'm saying?"
The Joker's green brows crease a bit more. He stares at Jake, who could see the focus that his brother had. He knew he was rolling everything around in his mind, trying his best to make sense of things. This required patience. Jake is normally a very patient man. But the voice in his head eradicated most of that. The voice constantly caught him by surprise. He finds himself to be on edge, almost spastic in his movenents. Jake doesn't feel as if he will ever get used to the voice.
The Joker keeps a look of concentration on his face as he stares at Jake. Slowly he allows his head to go back, then forward again. "Yes?" Jake eagerly asks, "Are you saying yes Jack? Yes that you understand what I'm saying?" Jake watches as the Joker again nods his head. Jake let's out a sigh of relief. "That's good Jack. That's really good," he smiles.
Jake couldn't help but notice the way his twin kept staring at him, his brows in a furrow. Concentrating. Percolating. Studying. Jake thinjs he might see recognition in the Joker's eyes. Jake lays down the Joker's chart on the end of the bed. He takes a step closer, watching the way the Joker's eyes stay focused on him. It made Jake both nervous and curious.
"Do I seem familiar to you Jack?" Jake asks and swallows hard.
