Jason shivers as the night air surrounded him in his soaking wet clothes. Water dripped from the ends of his green hair. He lurks through the shadows of the city, constantly expecting Bruce to come back looking for him. Jason's heart pounds, praying Harley was ok and that she didn't drown. He shouldn't have left her like that, regardless of what happened to him. He had promised to take care of her, and he left her. What the hell was he thinking? He should have saved her. He should have saved her before saving himself.

Where was Frost and Ace? Were they out looking for them? Or had they gone home, thinking that's where he and Harley were headed when he sped away from the club? Or maybe they saw the bat and ran like cowards? No. That's definitely not what his two top henchmen were. They were probably listening to the news, trying to find out if Batman had apprehended them. They'd come for him as soon as they thought it was safe. They'd never abandon him. Not like he had abandoned Harley.

But they didn't come. Not before Jason could make it to the penthouse on his own. As soon as he opened the door Frost and Ace's guns go in his face. Jason just looks at them. A tiny part of him wished one of them would have pulled the trigger. He deserved to be shot for leaving Harley in a submerged vehicle. She couldn't even swim. Damn him and his willful impulsiveness. Damn his anger.

"Boss, what happened? Where's Harley?" Frost harnesses his gun.

Jason looks down at his hands and shakes his head. "I-I-I don't know," he utters.

"What do you mean you don't know?" Ace puts his gun down and steps closer to Jason to check a big bump on his forehead

"What do you mean you don't know?" Ace puts his gun down and steps closer to Jason to check a big bump on his forehead. "Do you remember how you got this bump on your forehead?" Ace asks trying to pull Jason's chin up.

Jason jerks away with a low growl, "That damn bat showed up. I couldn't let him get me. They would have given me a MRI for that stupid competency hearing. They'd find out I'm not the Joker. I-I-I crashed the car into the harbor so I could escape. He came into the water after me. I didn't have time to..."

Frost grabs Jason by his shoulders causing him to flinch, "Where is Harley?" Frost asks.

Jason's eyes fill with tears, "I couldn't...Batman wouldn't leave her to die," Jason could see Frost's eyes go wide. Jason's hands go to his head, "If I would have tried to save her he would have gotten me. Can't you understand that I couldn't let him get me? Everything would be over. I...I promised J..."

Jason's confusion and babbling go unnoticed by Johnny. "So you just left her to fucking die?" Frost almost shouts at him.

"No. No. He jumped in the water. He wouldn't leave her. He wouldn't..." Jason's head slowly hangs in shame.

Ace noted the way Jason was shivering. He was obviously in shock. Jason was obsessed with Harley, he'd never leave her to die. Frost looks to Ace. They each attempted to read the other's mind. Should they go out and try to find Harley? Should they regroup and wait to get some kind of news? Should they check the hospitals? Arkham? The downtown precincts? God forbid, the morgue?
