Adelynn's pov:

I didn't show up at Ryle's mafia the next day, it has been a few days since I found out. I'm still in slight shock. I mean this is big for me, learning the guy I hated is my brother and that my family is mafia.

Don't get me wrong it's kind of cool but from what I've seen with Ryle, bodyguards follow you everywhere.

I don't want people following my every move him and my dad needs to know even if I do decide to join that part of the family I don't want people following me everywhere.

Speaking of which I have thought about his proposal, as most would say, I would want to try out the mafia life style. Now the only thing I know about it is what I've read in books and watched in movies but it's probably very different.

Anyway if I want to know what this life style is, only one way to find out. Elias wasn't here, he went out.. again.

I don't know whether to be worried or not since he hasn't been around much, he's always making up excuses not to be around.

Not sure if it's me or something else, it's just weird for him not to tell me. Moving on, I did change Ryle's contact from 'blocked number' to 'Ryle'. It seems only fair since we are family.

Speaking of Ryle.. "Hey." I spoke down the phone. "Hey Adelynn, are you on your way over?" Ryle asked. "Yeah. To your mafia right?" I stated.

"Actually no." No? "Uh why? Did I leave the offer too long?" I laughed slightly after saying that.

"Would you mind coming to the house. Alec is here and dad requested you join us for dinner. It'll be worth it I promise. Dad is being annoying again, he wouldn't stop bugging me until I rung you."

Dinner? With my dad, Ryle and Alec? Weird. "Bit weird that Alec is there but sure.." I said with a confused tone.

"I just thought because you and Alec were friends we could invite him? If not I can ask him to leave." He said. "No no, it's fine. I'll be there soon." I said as I ended the call.

Well I guess I'm learning the life style through a dinner. I sighed at my thoughts. I arrived at the gates and rolled my window down. "Adelynn Rivera. Daughter." I spoke.

"Miss Rivera." He opened the gates and I rolled my window back up, drove up the driveway parked up and got out. I sorted my dress out while walking up the steps and opened the door.

"Ryle!" I yelled when I walked through. "Addie. You look lovely." Ryle said to me. Did I forget to mention I had a outfit change before I arrived.

I changed into a black velvet dress with black feathers outlining the top of the dress and it was shoulder less. My hair was in a high ponytail with two thin strands of hair dangling down.

"Please tell me there's alcohol I don't think I can survive a dinner with our father without it." I said walking in the direction of the dining room with Ryle.

"Oh don't worry there is. If there wasn't I wouldn't be able to survive either." He replied back. "Oh and dad invited someone else they should be showing up in a minute."

Ryle added on. "Who?" I asked. "I don't know, I just heard him on the phone telling someone to come here for dinner." He replied. "Let's go find out what this dinner is about."

I spoke while walking into the dining room to find my dad sitting on one end of the table, Alec sitting on one of the sides with another free seat and two more free seats opposite.

I'm guessing the one next to Alec is for me and the other two seats are for Ryle and the mystery person. I pulled out my seat and sat down next to Alec.
