67- Shopping.

Adelynn's pov:

Haze wants to go shopping for a dress for the masquerade event that's happening in a couple days. Two days until I see my dad and Ryle, I'm dreading it.

When I say shopping I mean looking at the dresses Nina owns because we are the same size in her apartment sized closet, I'd kill to have a closet this big. I could say that's the upside of having a rich business family but I also have one so.

Ryle mentioned a while ago that the Rivera business was the second most powerful in the mafia business, I learned that the Diaz family are the first most powerful. That's why the Rivera's are constantly, what some would say, war with them. I can't understand why the two families with the most power are at war because no one is going to win, we need to work together instead of against each other because it doesn't help anyone.

This family feud is just going to cause too much collateral damage, Ryle keeps telling me to stay away from Haze before I ran away because I'd become collateral damage but in all honesty I don't care. I'm not going to stop loving someone because of someone that happened decades ago. The fact is it's not even the Diaz family who want this war to carry on, it's my family.

The Rivera's want it, Haze's dad has already said he's willing to talk to my dad and Ryle about stopping this stupid thing that's going on. Nor my brother or my dad would speak to him or Haze because they are too stubborn, it's like Haze said if anyone is the closest to being a traitor it's me for getting involved with him.

This family is cursed I swear, or my life is cursed.

"Adelynn!" Nina yelled from the door, I turned my head. "Come on. I want to find you a dress." She spoke pacing into the room, pulling me up with my hands and pulling me out of the room. "Okay okay, slow down." I replied laughing slightly as I was being dragged across the hall into Nina's room and then into her closet.

I've said it before and I'll say it again I need this closet in my house. Haze was also in the room. "So what are we thinking?" Nina asked me, I took a minute to think because I had no idea. "How about you show me what you think will suit me and I'll try them on?" I suggested and she jumped in excitement.

"Yes, give me a few minutes and I'll find you a bunch." She replied skipping away into another part of her closet.

I sighed and Haze moved over to me pulling me down to sit on his lap. "What's up?" He asked me, I looked at him before saying anything. "I'm stressed." I replied. "It's only two days, the event is the day after tomorrow and I have to see Ryle and my dad. All of this stress is making my period late as well which is stressing me out more." I added on trying to explain everything.

"You won't cramps for the event at least." He stated adding a little laugh at the end of his words. "I keep feeling nauseous, feeling sick and dizzy. It's most likely all the stress." I explained and as soon as my lips touched his Nina came running back into the room.

"Okay kids break it up, Adelynn you have dresses to try on." She spoke as he dragged me off Haze and pushed me into another room.

"All 4 dresses are in there, try them all on but show us all the dresses. You may pick which one you want first." She added on and closed the door.

I took a deep breath and looked at the sight in front of me. All these dresses were beautiful, there was a green, a blue, a red and a purple dress. I guess Nina knows all my favourite colours, it'll be hard to just pick one.

In all fairness the green was the only one that screamed masquerade and power, that's what I want. I want the dress that makes me seem like I have more power than anyone in that room, including my dear brother and father.
