The dust of Heartland still hung heavy in the air — gray fragments of a city that once glittered with laughter. Amid the ruins, Yuya stood firm, shielding Gongenzaka and Sawatari with both arms spread wide. "I'm not going to let my friends get turned into cards! Sawatari, Gongenzaka... and the people still surviving in Heartland — I won't let anyone else suffer!"

Across from him, Yuto's tone was sharp, almost pleading. "It's useless, Yuya. Kaito isn't going to listen to anything you say!"

Yuya turned toward his counterpart, eyes bright with conviction. "If he won't listen to my words, then I'll make him understand through a Duel! I learned from my Duel with Jack — if I pour my words and feelings into my Dueling, even someone drowning in anger can hear them!"

A low, bitter laugh cut through the rubble. "You know my name?" Kaito Tenjo stepped forward, his duel disk already gleaming. His eyes burned like twin shards of blue lightning. "So you're from Academia!"

Yuya shook his head fiercely. "No! I'm not from Academia!"

Kaito's expression hardened. "Don't lie! Academia put a bounty on my head, and I've hunted their soldiers ever since. I've turned countless of them into cards — and yet, you..." His voice broke into fury. "You've turned far more! That's why I swore— if you turn a hundred of my friends into cards... then I'll make a thousand of your kind suffer the same fate! That is my justice! And you— you'll soon join them!"

Gongenzaka forced himself up on one arm. "Yuya, don't—he's not thinking straight!" But Yuya's gaze didn't waver. "I'm not here to fight vengeance with vengeance!" he shouted, activating his duel disk. The device responded with a sharp hum as holographic circuits spun to life. "I only want to talk to you — with my Dueling!"

A synthetic voice echoed: "Field Magic: Crossover!" The ground rippled with radiant blue grids. Duel platforms rose from the cracked street, surrounding them in a swirling vortex of data and light. As the last circuit locked in, Kaito's eyes narrowed. "Talking is pointless! Academia only deserves death!"

Before Yuya could answer, his deck began to glow — faintly at first, then blindingly. Cards lifted into the air, spinning around him. The light spread, wrapping his entire body in a shimmering white aura. His hair lengthened, streaks of green and white intertwining like Zarc's, but softer — controlled, pure. Yuya gasped as the light surged through him. "What... is this power?"

Zarc's voice resonated deep within his mind. "Photon Transformation... It's what Kaito once used in the original dimension. But this— your deck... it's resonating with his! Sharing its energy through the dimensional link!"

Kaito's cloak flared as he stepped forward, eyes blazing against the radiance. "I don't know what trick you're pulling, but you won't intimidate me with illusions!"

Yuya raised his arm, the white glow now pulsing with rhythm — like a heartbeat of hope. "This isn't intimidation! It's proof that our worlds can still connect through Dueling! Let's go, Kaito! I'll show you what my smile means!"

The two duelists stood at opposite ends of the Crossover field, light and shadow colliding in their eyes. Both shouted in unison: "DUEL!"(Yuya:4000)(Kaito:4000)

"I'll go first! I summon Cipher Wing from my hand!" (ATK:1400/DEF:900/Level 4)

Kaito summoned a bit-like monster with three metallic wings that fanned out in a burst of light.

"When I control a Cipher Wing, I can Special Summon another Cipher Wing from my hand!" Another identical creature materialized beside the first, its wings flaring in synchronization.
