The wind howled through the shattered skyline of Heartland as the Resistance gathered in formation. Every duelist—veteran and rookie alike—stood shoulder to shoulder beneath the cracked banners fluttering in the morning light.
Yuya stepped forward, his Duel Disk gleaming as he raised his voice. "Everyone! Today is the day we finally stop Academia's invasion!"
The words carried across the field, igniting sparks of determination in the hearts of those listening.
Reisho followed beside him, calm but resolute. "Indeed. There's only one base left. Once we bring it down, Academia will never again have the power to invade Heartland!"
A roar of cheers erupted. The sound rolled like thunder through the ruined streets—hope reborn after so many battles.
Yuya nodded once. "Let's move out!"
The Resistance surged forward, marching toward the final enemy stronghold. But as they crested the ridge, the sight before them froze their steps.
Dozens of blue-uniformed duelists were already waiting—the Obelisk Force. Rows upon rows of duel disks snapped open in unison, their blue visors glinting beneath the gray sky.
Reisho frowned. "So they've deployed their strongest force to guard the final base..."
Yuya's eyes narrowed, voice steady but fierce. "They've failed to stop us every time before. This time won't be any different."
Yuni stepped up beside him, her duel disk already active. "They're not going to stop us anymore. We end this today!"
Around them, everyone activated their duel disks—the sound of dozens of systems powering up blending with the rumble of the wind. Even the healers who had stayed behind at the Duel Lodge joined in, knowing this was the last stand. The air vibrated with courage and fear alike.
From across the field, one of the Obelisk Force duelists sneered. "Have you said your farewells? You'll have no regrets once we're done with you."
Another smirked, raising his disk. "Prepare to be turned into cards! You'll be finished by us—the Obelisk Force!"
Katrina glared, her eyes burning with fury. "Do you think that's enough to scare us?!"
Shun cracked a smile, wings of his Duel Disk flaring open. "You're the ones who should be afraid. Today, you fall!"
A wave of energy rippled across both sides as Action Fields began to project into the sky, their fractured data forming a new battleground over Heartland's ruins.
Yuya tightened his grip on his Duel Disk, his voice cutting through the chaos. "Everyone—this is our final stand! For Heartland, for our friends, and for the freedom of every Dimension!"
The Resistance shouted as one. Duel Disks ignited. Light burst across the field.
And as the two forces clashed, the battle that would decide the fate of Heartland began.
Yuya and Shun Kurosaki stood back to back at the center of the storm, their duel disks gleaming in the sunlight. Across from them stood three Obelisk Force members—red, blue, and green uniforms flaring under the wind.
One of them sneered. "Only you two?"
Yuya's confident smile didn't falter. "The two of us are more than enough to beat the three of you."
"How foolish," the red Obelisk member said coldly.
"It doesn't matter how many you bring," the green one added. "We'll dispose of all Lancers in the end."
