After the fall of the third base, a calm period finally settled across the Resistance outpost. Jim, now freed from the parasite's control, had begun adjusting to life among his new allies. Though the memories of his actions under control weighed heavily on him, the others welcomed him with open arms.
Lisa stood near one of the hangar decks, her duel disk slung loosely around her arm. Jim approached her with a faint smile. "Lisa... I owe you my thanks," he said quietly. "If it weren't for you—and Karen—I'd still be lost."
Lisa turned slightly, offering him a small but warm smile. "You don't need to thank me, Jim. Just promise you'll stay on the right path this time. That's enough."
Jim chuckled lightly. "Fair deal."
Their brief exchange was enough to remind everyone how much progress had been made—and how far they still had to go.
Meanwhile, high above the Resistance base, the Different Dimension Airship cut through the clouds, its engines humming softly.
Inside the control deck, Yuya sat beside Katrina and Vivian, watching the glowing console in front of them. In the back, Yuni, Reisho, and Bruno were working on the newly restored Dimensional Teleport Machine—its runic circuit boards sparking with faint blue light.
Yuya leaned forward. "Yuni, is it done yet?"
Yuni tightened one last bolt before pressing the main switch. "If my calculations are right... once I press this button, it'll be finished."
She took a breath, pressed the red button, and the entire room filled with a flash of light as a swirling portal opened before them.
"It's working!" Yuni exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement. "The system's stable—it's a success!"
But her smile faded slightly. "Although... there's one small problem."
Vivian blinked. "What kind of problem?"
Reisho looked over his shoulder. "We're not certain the passage will hold long enough for us to reach the Synchro Dimension safely. We were lucky during the jump to Standard... but this time, there's no guarantee."
Katrina crossed her arms. "Well, we won't know unless we try."
Yuya nodded, standing up with determination. "Then let's try it. We've come too far to hesitate now."
Together—Yuya, Yuni, Vivian, Katrina, Reisho, and Yuzu—stepped into the Dimensional Teleporter. The light swallowed them whole, and in an instant, the world around them shifted.
When they opened their eyes, they found themselves standing in a bright living room overlooking a glittering blue sea. The distant sound of waves brushed against the wind.
Yuzu blinked, recognition dawning in her eyes. "Wait... I know this place. This is Ruka and Rua's house!"
Reisho exhaled, relief softening his face. "So we made it. The transport worked."
Yuni glanced around curiously. "Then where are Reiji and the others?"
They stepped out onto the balcony, the morning sunlight washing over them. What they saw below made them stop in awe.
The City stretched beneath them—no longer divided between Tops and Commons. Clean streets ran through new neighborhoods filled with apartments, houses, and shops. Children played in the seaside park, and the air hummed with energy and life.
