The Sixth Base was chaos. Explosions echoed through the corridors as duelists clashed beneath the crimson skies of the invasion. Sparks and shattered holograms filled the air, and in the middle of the ruined plaza, Reisho faced an Academia soldier standing firm behind a massive steel titan.
On the enemy's field loomed Antique Gear Golem, its gears grinding like thunder. The soldier's Life Points flickered at 2000, his eyes full of cruel certainty. Across from him, Reisho's field was bare—but two glowing cards pulsed within his Pendulum Zone: Solar Warrior Pluto and Solar Warrior Asteroid. His own Life Points were down to 3500, and his hands trembled from fatigue, yet his gaze burned with focus.
Then, a light flared inside his Deck. Reisho's fingers froze, feeling the warmth radiating through the card sleeves. A single card shone with a dimensional glow, as if calling to him.
He drew it slowly, a faint smile curving on his lips. "Looks like another Number has returned," he said under his breath. "Let's end this."
Reisho raised his arm, the card gleaming between his fingers. "I use Pendulum Xyz! I Special Summon both Level 3 Solar Warrior Pluto and Solar Warrior Asteroid from my Pendulum Zone, and I overlay them!"
The two Solar Warriors erupted from the blue and red scales, spiraling together in a flash of cosmic energy.
The Academia soldier stepped back. "Using Pendulum Monsters to Xyz Summon!?" he shouted, disbelief written across his face.
"Exactly," Reisho replied, his voice low but resolute. "Xyz Summon! Arise from the rift between dimensions—Number 26: Dimensional Pathway Octobypass! (ATK:800/DEF:2400/Rank 3/Overlay Unit:2)."
From the void surged a massive octopus formed of shimmering portals, its tentacles glowing with circuitry and starlight.
"I end my turn," Reisho said calmly, his Duel Disk humming. "Oh, and I should've mentioned—while Octobypass is on the field, each player can only attack with one monster."
The soldier sneered. "A weak creature with laughable defenses. It won't save you. When Antique Gear Golem attacks a Defense Position monster, you still take piercing damage!"
The golem's gears spun, its fist igniting with molten light as it lunged forward.
Reisho's eyes glowed faintly. "Not so fast. I detach one Overlay Unit from Octobypass! By doing so, I can redirect your attack—your Golem's strike becomes a direct attack!"
"What!?" The Academia duelist's smirk twisted into outrage. "You're insane! If you want to lose faster—so be it! Antique Gear Impact Punch!"
The golem's arm slammed downward, sending a shockwave through the field. Reisho braced himself as energy rippled through his Duel Disk.
(Reisho:3500–500)
Smoke cleared. Reisho was still standing—barely—but smiling through the pain. "And thank you," he said through gritted teeth. "That's exactly what I needed. After the Battle Phase, Octobypass's effect activates—I take control of the monster that attacked directly."
The soldier's confidence vanished. "What—no! That can't—"
Chains of glowing energy erupted from Octobypass, wrapping around Antique Gear Golem and dragging it across the field to Reisho's side. The mechanical titan knelt before its new master, its red optics turning blue.
