     (Y/n) looked the dark hedgehog up and down. He had black fur, with red stripes on his quills and crimson eyes that would be mesmerizing to any normal girl. But (y/n) wasn't normal, she was far from it.

     Shadow put his hand out for (y/n) to shake. She reluctantly accepted. "It's nice to meet you, I look forward to working with you," Shadow said, with no emotion in his voice, but his eyes betrayed him. His eyes were practically melting with disapproval, he didn't think (y/n) was a good agent, well he'd be surprised.

     "Me too," (y/n) answered him simply. Shadow was studying her too. But he wasn't obvious about it, which (y/n) found impressive, because he might be the only mobian who has ever not immediately flirted with her.

     (Y/n) let go of his hand and turned to the Commander. "So what is with this sudden change? I was fine in my department." (Y/n) asked, crossing her arms.

     The Commander chuckled. "Yes, you were fine. But after those few incidents throughout the month, it was probably better for you to get out of that area." Commander explained.

     (Y/n) frowned. "First, I don't need anyone to protect me. Second, moving me to a different area isn't working, he came to me and told me he had a train ticket for tomorrow." She told the Commander.

     The Commander looked taken aback. "How did he- never mind. Wait- why don't you just kill him, that'll get him to stay away." Commander suggested. (Y/n) was surprised, why did he care so much about Grey? Sure he... hurt (y/n), but she was fine now, what's the big deal?

     "I can't do that, he knows how to get in my head." (Y/n) replied.

     "Why don't I help you?" Shadow suggested, finally speaking.

     (Y/n) turned her head to look at him. "I don't need protection." She said coldly.

     "Don't think of me as protection, think of me as backup," Shadow said taking a step closer.

     (Y/n) sighed. "Whatever," she snarled.

     "Alright, Shadow would you like to show Agent (y/n) to her room?" Commander asked Shadow.

     Shadow nodded and he began to walk out, (y/n) behind him.

     Shadow held the door open for (y/n) then he led the way down a long hallway.

     They walked in silence until they reached the elevator at the end of the hall. The elevator doors opened to reveal (b/f/n), (f/n), and a white bat chatting.

     "Oh, hey (y/n), your head feeling better?" (F/n) asked looking away from the white bat.

     "It never did hurt." (Y/n) answered, "who's your new friend?"

     "Hello darling, I'm Rouge, Rouge the Bat." The white bat came forward and shook (y/n)'s hand. "Wow, you're more beautiful than (b/f/n) described! What do you use?"

     "Sorry?"

     "What makeup! What shampoo?" Rouge exclaimed.

     "I don't use makeup." (Y/n) said pulling her hand out of Rouge's grasp and crossing her arms.

     "Ah, Shadow, she seems like the perfect match for you," Rouge said with a smirk that (y/n) disliked.

     Shadow's face went red. "No Rouge! That will never happen, I could promise you, it will never happen!" Shadow snapped at the bat.
