"Ha! Dumb robots," Chime said to herself, retrieving her knife and then throwing it at another robot, "just keep showin' up for me!"
A robot smacked Chime away from the robot she was standing on top of. Chime looked back and was about to attack when a hammer pummelled the robot into the ground.
"When you asked me to help you, this isn't what I was imagining." The pink hedgehog wielding the hammer admitted.
"And I'm surprised you decided to help me," Chime replied, standing up, "an' I thank you for the help, Amy Rose."
Amy narrowed her eyes at Chime before smashing another robot. "Just Amy is fine," she growled, "I don't even know why I agreed to this."
Chime smirked and pulled her knife out of a robot's face. "You're sympathetic, an' I did tell you I was good friends with one of your ancestors."
Amy smashed another robot coming to attack Chime's other side. "You did mention (y/n) wanting to help you too," Amy stated, "I don't know her well but doesn't mean I should let one of her friends get hurt."
Chime let out a rough laugh and then drove her knife into the chest of a larger robot, quickly destroying it. "(Y/n) isn't my friend. I tried to kill 'er before but she decided to try an' help me."
Amy smashed a robot and then paused in thought. "(Y/n) didn't seem like the type to trust easily."
Chime took Amy's hammer and smashed several robots with one hit before leaning on the handle. "She don't trust easy," Chime informed, "she read somethin' in a journal 'bout me, guess it convinced 'er to trust me."
Amy glared at Chime and swiped her hammer back. "Find what you need already!"
Chime and Amy split up and began to search for the final ingredient to the "cure" (d/n) had created.
Chime had actually enjoyed (d/n)'s company. He always had something to discuss, whether something he was working on, or simply talking about his children.
Chime wished she had that type of relationship with her own family. Everyone thought she was the only immortal? Nope. Both of Chime's parents and both her siblings were immortal.
Almost none of them had stayed close throughout the 500 years. Chime's parents and younger sister both hated Chime for some reason, while her older brother was off living his life in luxury.
Chime envied her brother for his nonchalance of a never-ending life. Chime's brother even had a boyfriend! How could he not care that he'll die someday?
Chime shook her ongoing thoughts away and threw a robot's arm out of her way. It revealed a small door in the wall, barely big enough for a mobian to fit through."Amy!" Chime called, "I got somethin'! Got over 'ere!" Amy quickly appeared just as Chime opened the small door.
"Where does it go?" Amy asked curiously.
Chime shrugged. "Not sure, but I wanna find out!" Chime ducked down and began crawling through the door.
Amy quickly followed after Chime had made it through. It was a large room. It was empty from what Chime could see.
Chime turned to Amy. "Guess it was a waste of time, let's go"
"Was it a waste of time though?"
Chime and Amy froze. Neither of them had said that. Chime turned towards the room again. Someone was standing in the middle of the room.
Chime squinted her eyes at the figure. "Who are you?" She asked accusingly.
The figure was silent, then it began glowing. Lines on the figure's body glowed in several colours, most of the colour was a light blue, and some spots ranged from yellow to red. The weirdest thing about it in Chime's opinion, was a single eye glowing light blue, the other side of the face was obscured by darkness. Besides the glowing parts, the rest of the figure's body was rather white, or light grey.
The figure tilted its head. "I cannot answer that question." It said, "You're looking for something?"
Chime hesitated before nodding. "Yeah, I wanna die." She told it, "500 years is a long time to live."
The figure began walking towards Amy and Chime. "Is this what you're looking for?" It asked, holding up a small vile, "A supposed cure to immortality?"
Chime's eyes dilated. "Give me that!" She snapped closing the distance between herself and the figure, "I need that, give it!"
The figure held it back and the other eye's pupil began glowing red. "Watch it Chime, I could rip you apart!" It growled threateningly.
Chime scoffed. "I'm immortal, remember?" She growled at it, "I'll come back to life idiot."
"I never said I was going to kill you," the figure said, "take it, it won't work." The figure handed Chime the vile.
Chime looked at the vile and then at the figure's weird eyes. Chime reluctantly took it and the figure quickly whipped around and began walking away.
"Wait!" Amy called to the figure, "What are you?" The figure stopped walking. It stood there for a long time before turning back to them, a misshapen rock in its hand.
"I am not what you think," it replied simply then held the rock in the air as it began to glow blue, "see you in a few years."
Then it was gone. In a quick white flash, there was no trace of the figure anywhere. It had disappeared.
"That sort of looked like chaos control," Amy observed, "but how could it have done that?"
Chime shrugged. "Must've been that rock, but it wasn't a Chaos Emerald." Chime frowned at the spot where the figure had disappeared.
Amy sighed. "We'll figure this out later, let's go." Chime stood in place a moment longer before reluctantly following Amy.
