(F/n) laid on (y/n)'s bed while (b/f/n) sat on the couch and (y/n) herself was leaning against the doorframe of her kitchen. (B/f/n) didn't know why they were there but (f/n) had said it was important, so (b/f/n) followed along.

(Y/n) groaned. "Ask what you wanna ask already."

(F/n) sighed and sat up on her bed. "Even if it's gonna make you mad?"

(Y/n) narrowed her eyes. "Don't be a bastard. Say it already."

(B/f/n) laughed lightheartedly, trying to break the tension between the two, which failed.

(F/n) sighed. "Fine, you want me to be straightforward? do you like Shadow?"

(Y/n) froze. (B/f/n) was scared of what she was going to say as she stood completely still and thought for a long time.

(Y/n) finally talked. "What would give you that idea?" Her voice was cold, and it didn't give any emotion like always.

"What do you think gives me that idea?" (F/n) asked, he was deadly serious, with no humour in his face or tone.

"Your obsession with getting me a boyfriend?" (Y/n) questioned sarcastically.

"(Y/n), this is a serious question, I want to know so we can help you." (F/n) explained.

"What makes you think I'd need help if I liked him?" (Y/n) said crossly.

"Do you like him?" (B/f/n) asked, hoping she could get (y/n) in a moment of anger.

"I-" (y/n) cut herself off, then sighed. "Even if I did like him, I have enough trouble with Grey," (y/n) then muttered, "and (s/n)."

(F/n)'s ear twitched. "(S/n)? Who's that? You got ex-girlfriends now? Or just an enemy?"

(Y/n) growled. "Who (s/n) is is none of your concern."

"Oh? She must be a real problem if you're avoiding talking about her." (B/f/n) guessed.

(Y/n) growled again. "Not a problem, just irritating." (Y/n)'s phone began to ring and she looked at it and hung up immediately with another growl.

"I got a guess that was (s/n)." (F/n) said, only getting a cold glare from (y/n) as a response.

Sonic

Sonic and Amy were at Shadow's apartment, having a very similar conversation that was happening next door. The two of them —Sonic and (f/n)— had had a discussion about Shadow and (y/n). Sonic and (f/n) had agreed that the two were perfect for each other, even if Sonic wasn't a matchmaker, he was sure they were made for each other.

"Ok, I guess I'll get straight to the point." Amy began.

"That's unusual, this must be important," Shadow commented, with his arms crossed.

"Apparently it's very important to Sonic." Amy stated with a sideways glance at Sonic, "Anyway, there's one question I want to ask you."

"Well get on with it," Shadow growled impatiently.

"Do you like (y/n)?" Amy asked cautiously.

Shadow narrowed his eyes at Amy. Sonic could imagine Shadow fuming with rage on the inside but his face was neutral as he thought.

"Why is this all of a sudden important?" Shadow asked finally.

"Shads, it's always been important, I've just never mentioned your need for a girlfriend," Sonic replied.

"Don't call me 'Shads'," Shadow snarled.

"Shadow, you never answered the question." Amy pointed out.

Shadow turned to look at Amy. "I- I don't know. She's alright... I guess. I haven't even known her for that long!"

"Never heard you stutter before Shadow," Sonic said with a snarky tone.

Shadow glared at him. "I hope you know I'm not afraid to punch you in the face."

"Oh, I'm aware." Sonic admitted, "hasn't happened in a while though, come to think of it, hasn't happened until (y/n) arrived. Isn't that a coincidence?"

"What are you implying?" Shadow questioned bitterly.

"Maybe you're trying to impress (y/n) without realizing it." Amy offered.

Shadow scoffed. "No, I'm not. The last few weeks I've been thinking about- well... you know who. Just don't want to disappoint her."

That makes Sonic and Amy go quiet. They could hear (f/n) talking about ex-girlfriends and enemies then (y/n) respond in a bitter tone.

Then Shadow's phone began to ring. He quickly answered it. He frowned slightly as he held the phone to his ear. "Where is it?"

Sonic and Amy looked at each other, equally confused. "Got it, we'll be there soon." Shadow hung up his phone and began dialling a different number.

"Hello? Explanation?" Sonic questioned.

Shadow waved him off, then the mobian Shadow had called seemed to answer. "New mission, needs to be done now."

"Maybe you should be a bit more caring with your words Shadow," Amy suggested.

Shadow scoffed and grabbed his gun and keys. "Woah! Where are you going?" Sonic asked, a bit concerned.

"New mission," Shadow answered simply. "None of your business."

There was then a knock at the door and Shadow went to answer it and Sonic and Amy followed, planning on leaving as Shadow left for his mission. The mobian at the door was none other than (y/n) who stood with a serious expression as well as posture.

Shadow and (y/n) nodded to each other and began walking down the hallway, Shadow slightly behind her.

Sonic sighed as (b/f/n) and (f/n) came up to him and Amy. "They are so oblivious."

(F/n) snorted. "(Y/n) is far from oblivious, she knows she's feeling something. She just won't admit it, but won't deny it either." (B/f/n) nodded.

"Maybe we should get Rouge involved?" Amy suggested, "She has a knack for these things."

"Absolutely not!" (B/f/n) snapped, "Rouge would practically force them to date and make them uncomfortable!"

"In other words," (f/n) said, placing a comforting hand on (b/f/n)'s shoulder, "we have to ease them into it. Make them realize they're in love, then they'll figure it out."

Sonic shook his head. "May not look like it, but I know Shadow, he won't admit his feelings to anyone, especially if they're intimate."

(B/f/n) sighed. "(Y/n)'s the same. Won't even show emotion on her face most of the time."

"This'll be harder than we thought." (F/n) grumbled.

"Hey!" Sonic exclaimed. "Don't lose hope. We can do this. I know it."

(Y/n)

Shadow and (y/n) we're heading south in Station Square. Shadow had briefly explained what they were doing and it had made (y/n) determined to get there quickly.

As their motorcycles screeched to a stop in front of the alleyway the two quickly jumped off their motorcycles and ran to the alleyway.

But as they looked inside, the situation was worse than what Shadow told her, much worse.
