It had been a week since (y/n) left and everyone seemed to split up. Sonic, Silver, Amy, Blaze and Tails were to their own devices and seemed to have already accepted (y/n)'s disappearance.

(S/n) was working on telling the rest of her family the situation, but almost none of them were taking it well.

Grey was back to his usual schedule of living and not conversing with anyone but Maroon.

(E/n) and Hasheem are snooping around to find a job with little to no luck.

(F/n) and (b/f/n) are having a hard time accepting that (y/n) is gone but have begun to rebuild their relationship.

And then there was Shadow, still desperately searching for (y/n) and slowly losing hope. He hadn't had a proper sleep the entire week.

Shadow

Shadow sighed and sat down on the edge of a building. He had searched the entire city and outside perimeter 5 times that week and came up with absolutely nothing. He also hadn't heard anything from (b/n), usually, he would show up at least once a week but he had disappeared.

Maybe he left with (y/n). Shadow wondered. He took out the note and read it again.

Dear Shadow the Hedgehog
Sorry for leaving. But I didn't have a choice. Mephiles will keep hunting me, no matter what. I assure you I'm safe, I might come back someday, if it ever feels safe enough. Don't get stuck on me. Give this tape to Tails, I think he might be able to make something to let it play, then give it to the Commander. This is solid evidence against Gunner and I want you and Chime to be the one to finalize his arrest. Make sure Chime gets her cure too, she's lived long enough. Just remember, even if I did reject you, I love you Shadow, I always will.

Solid evidence against Gunner, Shadow thought, that might distract me for a while.

Shadow stood up and began in the direction of Tails' workshop.

"Busy! Come back later!"

"Too bad," Shadow shouted back over the loud drilling noise. He approached Tails.

Tails turned around at the sound of Shadow's voice and turned the drill off. "Shadow! I didn't expect to see you here," he stated, "I thought you'd still be looking for (y/n)."

"I found a temporary distraction," Shadow growled before narrowing his eyes at what Tails was working on, "What's that?"

Tails turned towards his invention. "I thought the intruder's mask looked pretty cool so I thought I'd try and make one myself!" He explained, "It's not going very well though."

Shadow raised his eyebrows. "I can see that," Shadow took the tape from his quills and held it in his hand, "(y/n) gave me this in a note she left for me, she thought you could get this thing to work?"

Tails took it from Shadow and studied it for a few minutes before turning to Shadow with bright eyes. "Of course I can! It might take an hour or two though."

"I can wait," Shadow said stoutly, "I need to find someone anyway, text me when you're done."

"Chime!"
