Shadow slowly began checking the rooms, every one he came by was empty. It didn't surprise him, all the rooms were slightly opened and looked pristinely untouched. Except for a few, some of them had unmade beds, garbage on the floor, and even food stains in one of them.

As he continued a few lights had gone out, it didn't affect his sight very much, but it was slightly unsettling that most of the lights were still working.

Shadow reached the end of the hallway. The right door was closed completely and the left was opened all the way.

Both were odd compared to the rest of the hallway's doors, Shadow decided to investigate the open one first. He slowly approached the darker room and glanced around slightly.

Shadow had taken a few steps into the room when a sharp heel connected with his upper back, pushing him over onto the ground, the door was quickly and quietly shut before Shadow could get up.

Shadow was about to call out to (y/n) and (s/n) when his attacker spoke in an accented, but hoarse voice. "Yell, and I'll send poison gas in the room." It spoke, "Fatal, if you couldn't guess."

(Y/n)

"Find anything interesting?" (S/n) asked while she rummaged through a bottom cupboard.

"Just more journals," (y/n) replied shorty, pulling another three thick journals out of a drawer and putting them in the stack next to her, "How much shit did dad need to write down?"

"A whole lot apparently." (S/n) answered sarcastically, "I never thought I'd come back here."

"Me either," (y/n) admitted solemnly, "this might be a random time to bring this up, but did you ever talk to that red wolf again?"

(S/n) paused in thought. "The red wolf..." she repeated to herself in a mumble, "You mean Hibiscus? The one I met when that (e/a/t) was attacking you?"

"Yeah, him." (Y/n) confirmed, with a nod to herself, "Did you ever see him again?"

"We've gone out for coffee a few times," (s/n) said, "he's a police officer, really sweet guy."

(Y/n) scoffed. "A police officer?" She questioned, "He doesn't sound like your type."

(Y/n) heard (s/n) make a frustrated noise. "What do you mean? How would you know my type?"

(Y/n) turned to (s/n) briefly. "Just because you haven't seen me doesn't mean I haven't kept an eye on you."

(S/n) paused and looked at (y/n). "You've been spying on me all these years? How?"

(Y/n) shrugged before looking back into the drawer and pulling out another journal. "I've developed a lot of skills over the years (s/n)."

(S/n) stayed silent a long time before sighing loudly. (Y/n) registered her footsteps approaching her. "I'm sorry, (y/n)."

"For what, exactly?" (Y/n) questioned, not looking up from the drawer.

"Everything," (s/n) answered immediately, "Our fights, my tendency to be overdramatic, everything I've done wrong, I'm sorry for."

(Y/n) looked away from the drawer to her older sister. "I believe I owe you an apology as well." She stated, "I have been very ignorant. It just felt like you had completely forgotten about our parents and brother."

(S/n) met (y/n)'s eyes, her eyes were sombre. "I did move on too quickly." (S/n) sighed, "I pushed it out of my mind until I could barely recognize a picture of (b/n)."
