(B/f/n), (f/n), and Flame broke into a fit of laughter and Shadow chuckled lightly.

"Now that is fucking rich man!" Flame laughed, holding his stomach through his laughter.

"I know right?" (F/n) agreed, "Puny was yelling at me so much after that but I couldn't stop smiling!"

"Eh, Puny's no fun anyway," (b/f/n) grumbled, "who needs his opinion on it?"

"Yeah, he's less fun than Shadow," Flame teased, looking at Shadow from the corner of his eye.

"I'm plenty fun," Shadow growled, "you're the one that wanted me to come here. You can't say shit."

"Oh shut up, both of you," (b/f/n) scoffed, "don't you remember what happened when my brother and I started fighting?"

"You stopped talking to him but you two forgave each other a few months later," Flame deadpanned, "Shadow and I aren't like that, and you know it."

"Anyway, has anyone been thinking about (y/n) lately?" (F/n) interrupted.

"I have, actually," Flame answered, "been missing her a lot lately. I keep thinking I could text her to hang out then I remember, I can't."

"Yeah, you're right," (b/f/n) agreed, "It's still weird not to have her around."

Shadow nodded. "I bet it's strange for you all, you two grew up with her, and Flame was her cousin."

"Not just them," Senile interrupted, walking over from nearby, "you were in love with (y/n), it's hard for you as well."

Shadow sighed. "I knew her for 6 months, that's nothing compared to how long you've known her."

"Maybe," Akela commented out of nowhere, "but she liked you more than you knew."

"They're right Shadow," (f/n) agreed, "you two were a great team and could've been so much greater!"

Shadow sighs and shakes his head. "I'm gonna head home. The Commander's been overworking me lately."

(B/f/n) began to protest. "Shadow wait-"

"Leave him," Senile interrupted, "just let him be."

Everyone allowed Shadow to leave without another protest. He was shocked that they didn't protest much, but he didn't care. He just wanted to go home.

Shadow arrived at his house a few minutes later and slumped onto the couch. He was exhausted from the work he had been doing lately.

"They're right you know," a (b/f/c) (a/t) said from behind Shadow, "it's alright to miss my sister."

Shadow sighed irritably. "Leave me alone (b/n)," he grumbled, "I don't wanna talk tonight."

"That's fine," (b/n) replied, "I'm just saying, you can miss her, it's okay."

(B/n) went silent and Shadow continued staring across the room in dead silence.

Shadow sighed heavily and stood up. He headed towards the kitchen and picked up the letter he had written to (y/n). He shuddered slightly and opened the letter.

Dear (y/n) the (a/t)
I hate this. I hate how things ended. I wish I could've said goodbye to you, held you one last time. I hate that you are right about leaving. Out of all the times you've been right, couldn't you have been wrong this once? I did what you asked, Gunner fought back hard, Chime blinded him permanently. And the cure for Chime didn't work, she wasn't surprised to say the least. I still hope to see you again someday. I love you (y/n) the (a/t).
Love, Shadow the Hedgehog

Shadow placed the note on the counter with a sigh. "I wish you were still here (y/n)."

Nero

"Tase!" Nero called out, "Where are you? You better not be hiding again!"

Tase's head popped out from behind a few boxes. "What? You need somethin'?"

Nero stared at him for a moment. "Yeah," he said longly, "Have you seen (y/n) anywhere? She was supposed to help me move some furniture."

Tase shook his head, standing up completely. "Haven't seen 'er 'round at all. Have ya asked your sister?"

Nero shook his head. "She hasn't seen her either, which is pretty shocking," he commented, "you sure she hasn't been around?"

"Positive." Tase replied, "Do ya think she-"
"Maybe, if she did, finally." Nero sighed with a smile.

Tase smiled back. "Agreed."

Shadow

Shadow was lying on his couch restlessly. He had been tired before but now he was restless.

Shadow stood from the couch and began pacing the room. He needed to get out of the house and wear off some of his energy.

He walked towards the door and began making his way down the street towards the nearby park.

When he arrived there were a few people and mobians already wandering around. It was a bright night after all.

Shadow wandered the park and watched the night sky and moon rise above him, almost reminding him of the days on the ARK.

He spent around an hour wandering before resting on a bench and staring up at the starry sky again.

As he stared at the sky he began to imagine a scene in his head.

The moon was high in the sky and he lay in an empty field with (y/n) by his side.
They were laughing together, (y/n) leaning into Shadow's side, a bright smile on her face as she laughed. Shadow had never seen (y/n) smile in all the time he'd known her, but it was beautiful in his mind.
Their laughter subsided and she curled comfortably into Shadow's side, resting her head on his shoulder.
"This is great," Shadow whispered, "I wish it were real."
"Maybe it will be someday," (y/n) replied, her smooth voice a grace to Shadow's ears.
Shadow smiled and pulled her closer to him enjoying her touch, even if it wasn't real.
A long time passed before (y/n) suddenly pulled away. "Go home."

Shadow was suddenly snapped out of his vision to see the park before him, now empty.

He sighed and watched the park for a bit longer before he got up and began slowly walking home.

"Sorry, I'm late."

Shadow freezes. The voice he had heard was smooth in his ears. Familiar.

Shadow turned around to see a (a/t). A (f/c) (a/t) with (e/c) eyes. (Y/n).

Shadow stared at her, not entirely sure what to do. She looked nervous and didn't make a move.

"Did you not want to-" (y/n) began but Shadow interrupted by enveloping her in a hug.

She immediately hugged back, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"I've missed you so much," Shadow whispered, "where have you been?"

She pulled away slightly to look at his face, a slight tilt to her head. "That doesn't matter right now, Shadow."

And then she kissed him.
