Shadow had never seen the brown bear before, but he radiated bad energy. Shadow glanced at (y/n) she had bitterness in her eyes.

As quickly as it was there, it was gone as she turned to the red (a/t). "How often does he come here?"

"Once a week. Always on this day. Always this time." Flame said. "Will I be seeing you two more often?"

"Most likely. We're-" (y/n) was shoved to the side by none other than Gunner.

"Out of my way (a/t). Margarita, make it quick." Gunner snarled in a booming voice. (Y/n) gave the giant bear a sharp glare but didn't say anything.

"Sorry, I'm already serving, you could go to Aspen over there, he isn't serving anyone." Flame said calmly yet there was an intense fire in his eyes.

"I want my margarita, and I want it now." Gunner turned to Shadow. "I hear you the top guy at G.U.N now." Flame reluctantly began making Gunner a Margarita.

"Yes, so what?" Shadow questioned, not actually interested in his answer.

"Bad place, only wash-ups like these (a/t)s end up there." Gunner turned and grabbed (y/n)'s wrist, causing her to wince in pain. "You, (f/c) (a/t), I bet she works at G.U.N. Huh? Do you?"

"She does, and she is my partner," Shadow said, his voice had unintentional venom in it but Gunner didn't notice. What is wrong with me? (Y/n) can take care of herself.

"Her? Ha! This weakling? I doubt she does anything and just lets you do all the work." Gunner laughed, he tightened his grip on (y/n) as she tried to get away.

Shadow sighed. "Think what you want, but she isn't worthless." Shadow grumbled.

"Could you let go of me?" (Y/n) snarled at Gunner, her face was emotionless.

Gunner tried to throw (y/n) to the ground. She stumbled slightly but regained balance. Gunner looked a bit angry that she hadn't fallen but continued to ignore her as she sat down again.

Shadow noticed that almost every bar worker around them —including Flame— frowned at the situation. "Anyway," Gunner continued, "let's keep talking, I'm enjoying this."

Sonic

"I'm sorry, what?" Amy questioned for the 10th time, or was it the 11th? Sonic couldn't remember.

"What is it that you don't understand?" Sonic asked her.

"Well... it's just that it's not like you. You're trying to pair them up. And you usually discourage me from doing that. So what makes them different?" Amy asked.

"Ok, Shadow isn't the sentimental type, or the one to ask someone out. While (y/n) is civilized and she also doesn't seem like the one to ask someone out." Sonic explained simply, flopping onto the couch.

It looked like Amy was about to scold him for flopping on the couch but she sighed and continued with the conversation "They haven't even known each other for a week, how do we know (y/n) isn't some obnoxious girl who knows how to play the quiet girl?" Amy said.

"What did you do with Amy? You love matchmaking! They are perfect for each other. They just can't progress their relationship without help!" Sonic encouraged.

Amy sighed. "I'll try my best." She agreed.

Flame

Gunner had been droning on at the black hedgehog that seemed to be done with it. (Y/n) looked bored.

"Hey-" Flame started before (y/n) interrupted him with a fierce whisper.

"Be quiet. I'm listening." Flame realized and nodded at her. Snowy was standing a few feet away from Flame serving a couple of birds that seemed to be celebrating a birthday.

Flame went to talk to her. "Hey, what do you think of this guy?"

"Are you talking about Shadow? He seems good, a bit cold, like (n/n). Just needs some warmth to thaw up." Snowy said honestly. You could always tell when she was telling the truth because of the sweetness in her voice.

"I don't know. He seems a bit too cold." Flame said suspiciously.

"I could say the same thing about (y/n)." A cousin —Akela— said in a snarky tone.

Flame glared after him angrily. "Don't make that face, he's right you know. Look at her now." Snowy said, gesturing to (y/n).

Flame looked at (y/n) who was giving a bitter look to Shadow who did notice but didn't care.

"Fine, she's a bit bitter. Doesn't make her bad." Flame argued.

"They never said she was bad." Alphine jumped in.

Flame growled under his breath. "I didn't mean it like that. I meant she isn't as bad as you guys make her out to be."

"Now look at who's insulting her," Aiden remarked, smirking.

"Hey! Back to work! All of you." Flame's father —Dunbar— snapped.

Everyone quickly scurried away in a hurry. As Flame got back to (y/n), Gunner, and Shadow, (y/n) looked even more bored than before as did Shadow.

"Hey! Another one!" Gunner demanded. Flame sighed and reluctantly obeyed the bear.

(Y/n)

The group of cousins didn't know, but (y/n) had heard everything they'd said, even if she had mostly been paying attention to Gunner's rambling she had processed everything.

She hadn't really cared, (y/n) knew her flaws and she couldn't fix them, simple as that.

Shadow leaned forward, enough for (y/n) to see him. "Thought this guy was supposed to be threatening?" He mouthed to her.

(Y/n) shrugged, "he's killed mobians before. He's probably just in a comfort zone." She mouthed back.

Shadow paused for a moment then nodded, leaning back in his bar stool again so (y/n) couldn't see him.

Gunner went on for a couple of minutes more before he took a pause, giving Shadow the chance to say something. "Talking to you has been great and all, but I should be getting back, G.U.N gets worried when we're gone too long."

"Alright, we should do this again sometime. It was good." Gunner replied.

Shadow got from his seat and gestured to (y/n) to follow. She slipped away and saw a few cousins waving to her as she left.
