(y/n) wasn't sure how to feel. She wasn't sure what Shadow thought of her. Did he think she was weak? (Y/n) wasn't sure what she was supposed to think.

Worse, Shadow and (y/n) had to go to Dunbar to see Gunner that night. They hadn't talked since (s/n)'s house so (y/n) wasn't sure what to say to Shadow. Guess she'll have to improvise.

Flame

"Akela! Get over here! I gotta go!" Flame called across the bar, and he threw his jacket on.

Akela made his way over to Flame, "what why? Your shift doesn't end for another hour."

"It's Arlene's birthday," Flame said matter of factly, "I'm taking her out to dinner."

"So?" Akela asked, "Why didn't you tell Dunbar earlier? You still have a shift to finish."

"I know Akela," Flame snapped, "I didn't have time, you know I'm the hardest working here, can't I have one early shift? Please?"

Akela frowned at him for a moment before sighing and putting a hand to his head. "Fine, you owe me."

"Thank you so much, Akela! See ya, thanks!" Flame rushed out of the bar before Akela changed his mind.

Before Flame left, he spotted Shadow and (y/n) pulling up. He stopped before entering his car to talk to them.

(Y/n) walked up to him first with Shadow close behind her, his face was obscured in confusion.

"Where are you going?" (Y/n) asked, her voice was hard as stone and didn't reveal anything.

"Arlene's birthday, I'm taking her out. Akela's covering for me." Flame explained.

"Is Gunner here yet?" Shadow asked, his voice wasn't as forceful as usual and (y/n) seemed to notice this too as her eyes flicked to look at him.

Flame shook his head. "He'll be here any minute though, best head inside. Akela will help you."

"No, it's fine, I could take your shift for you," (y/n) said, "I haven't worked here in a couple weeks, better make it work for the other job."

"Really? You would do that? Thanks so much, you're the best." Flame said and hugged (y/n) slightly.

"No problem," (y/n) said before walking away, then stopping to look back at Shadow who hadn't moved, "are you coming?"

"I'll catch up," Shadow said with a nod. (Y/n) nodded back and continued towards the bar.

Once she was out of earshot, Shadow turned to Flame, his face now emotionless.

Flame chuckled awkwardly. "What did you wanna talk about?" He asked. "Wait! Don't tell me, it's about (y/n) isn't it?"

Shadow stared at him for a moment before nodding. His face didn't change in the slightest.

Flame smirked, "Alright, what do you want to know about (y/n)?" Flame asked, "Has she always been calm but pissed off at the same time? Pretty much, but she's gotten worse."

Shadow paused for a moment.
"What? Why did she get worse?" Flame could tell he had wanted to say something else but stopped himself last second.

"Well, with what happened to her family, and all," Flame said, "I feel like even Frosty would become more cold, in her personality I mean."

"Do you know exactly what happened?" Shadow asked.
