At the age of 17 Mariana Deliro is given a multi-million dollar company, by who? That's anyone's guess. Money may seem like a blessing but don't be fooled, it's a curse in disguise. With money comes: lying, deceit, betrayals and even a twisted myste...
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Tara. Happy birthday to you." I sing as we walk through the practically empty car park towards our school.
"Come on Jackson sing it with me, don't be a party pooper."
"I'm not singing it." He says in a raspy voice. I huff in response. He's just mad that I dragged him out of bed, literally and to school early so we could set up decorations on Tara's locker. Jackson keeps "resting his eyes" which is code for he keeps nodding off and when his head falls down he wakes back up. He wasn't that much help but was better than none at all. I also needed a ride here but he really shouldn't have been driving in the state he's in, he could've fallen asleep and killed us both.
Tara is usually up early and I know that she comes to school early so we had to be here even earlier than her. We were outside before the school was even unlocked which is a first for both me and Jackson who both are not early birds. Luckily, Tara was running later than usual today so once we'd finished we came outside to wait for her and she was only just arriving.
"What are you even doing here? The pair of you are never awake this early. It's unsettling." She says, looking between the two of us suspiciously.
Jackson points at me "It's her fault." He says. I roll my eyes.
We make it to her locker which we decorated with streamers, flowers and birthday cards. "Aw thanks you guys. I love it and I love you both." She engulfs us both in a group hug. I hug her back and Jackson just kinda stands there looking half-dead from lack of sleep.
"Let's get you some coffee." Tara pats him on the head before sneaking into the teachers lounge. I follow after her and we leave Jackson to "rest his eyes" in front of Tara's glammed up locker.
"Hurry up, we're not meant to be here." I say to her in a hushed voice.
"It's fine I come in here all the time. None of the teachers arrive for at least another 10 minutes. I found that out the hard way." She says filling up multiple coffee cups. "All done." She hands me one and we make our way back to Jackson.

At the end of the school day, Jackson is more lively. He has the task of transporting me and Cassie to her house to pick up the cake that Cassie made for Tara's birthday before we go to Tara's house for the party.
Today is a Wednesday so the 9 of us are going round Tara's house for dinner with her family. On Saturday, we'll be having a house party at her house, without her family and parents. 9 people is considered a "small party" to her family so they've agreed to let her host a bigger one alone as long as they find the house in the exact same condition they left it in.
When we arrive at Tara's house, her parents greet us at the door. Tara comes down the stairs with Marley. She is wearing a gorgeous pinky-purple dress with puffed out sleeves that suits her perfectly.
