I carefully unfold the unneatly folded piece of paper in my hands. My eyes scan the writing, my heart beating faster than a train. It reads:

Hey bitches. You were taking too long so we ditched ya. Sorry not sorry. Good luck finding your way out. I would say come and find us once you're free but we will probably be at home asleep by then and I'll be pissed if you wake me up so please don't bother. C ya - Wes and the rest.

"Son of a potato." I say dropping the note on the floor in the process.

"A potato?" Jackson questions bending over to pick up the note.

"He called me a bitch I wanted to be original."

"Wes and the rest? Is he fucking for real?" Jack says after reading the letter. "They ditched us wow. We didn't even take that long." He says looking at me. "If we get out of here and it is late I'm going straight round Wes' house and I'm waking him up."

"I'm joining too."

We hear some footsteps nearby and I suddenly remember why I was so scared to read the letter in the first place. The person I feel watching us. The steps get closer and closer until they are just around the corner.

Jackson and I move closer to one another our eyes glued to the entry way and we wait for the person to come around the corner. Only, not one one person comes into view, two do.

Relief floods through my body when I see Tara and Marley. They look at us and we stare back at them. Marley's lips are covered in smudged pink lipstick, Tara's lipstick. Tara's lips are also smudged. If we hadn't spotted them making out it would still be clear as day.

"Well at least we're not last." Jackson says.

"We're not last either by the look of it." Tara says so Jackson hands them the note. They finish reading it and share a look, realising that they are indeed last.

"You two have got a little something." I say pointing along my lips. "There." They both quickly wipe their mouths and we begin to walk towards the maze exit.

The route out of the maze takes way less time than and is way easier than the way in was.

I still feel like someone is watching me practically the whole way out of the maze but it seems to decrease in intensity until we get out of the maze and it feels like it's been lifted. I start to feel more relaxed.

We make it our mission to find the rest of our friends and when we do spot them it's only because of the massive turquoise unicorn grasped in Wes' arms. They are stood in a queue for some sort of food. First they leave us in a maze and ditch us, then they buy food without us.

"Not gonna buy your forgotten friends any?" I say raising my eyebrows dramatically and crossing my arms.

Wes slowly turns towards us. "Hi guys." He greets with a cautious smile. When he gets no reaction he continues. "I didn't want to leave you. It was their fault." He says panickedly pointing to the four people beside him.

"That's not true. Cassie and I had only been there a second when he ripped the pen and paper out of her hand and began scribbling the note."

"You little snitch" He says glaring at Quinn.

We eventually each get our carnival snacks and make our way out of the queue. I spot Tyler in the queue only a few people behind where we were but decide it's best not to say anything to him in case of raising suspicions. Only Tara knows that we're dating.

"Hi Tyler." Wes waves his candy floss because he has no free hands. Shit. He knows about us too. "You here alone?" He asks.

"No. Well, yes. I was here with my sister but she just left with her friends." He says glancing over at me subtly.
