Today is my first day at work officially. I haven't been to the office yet and today Catherine's going to tell me what I need to do. She'll show me around and introduce me to everyone. She's been working there again for the past few weeks and knows a percentage of people from back in the day.

I'm scared. This could go awfully wrong. If someone really wants this company, and did kill those people all those years ago, I could be dead within seconds. That's a scary thought. I try and push it away though.

No one will do anything, there's extra security. If anyone tries anything shady they'll react straight away, stopping them before they can do anything. I also haven't signed the contracts yet and no one will know when I do, so they can't kill me until they're sure. But I'm still wary and I can't help but worry.

Everything will be alright. I remind myself.

But what if it's not? I can't help but wonder.

I dress in formal attire and make my way down the stairs. As I do so I hear voices. "What are you doing here?" I ask the two people.

My parents stand before me both dressed formally, they're both in suits.

"We're coming with you." My father replies.

"What?"

"Your father and I would like to see what you're going to be doing at this company of yours and to set some ground rules.."

"And you also need someone to drive you." He says.

"Um. Ok?" Why don't we all just get assassinated.

My mom drives the three of us to the building that Catherine told me the directions to.

We walk into the modern building, as we walk in there's a front desk right in front of us. I was told to go to the front desk and from there the lady would tell me where to go and the security team would know who I was. "Hi I'm Mariana. I'm looking for Catherine." I say.

She looks up to me, directing me straight away. "She's on the 6th floor. Take the elevator over there and when you get to the 6th floor you want to go straight forward and make the first left. She should be in the door at the end of the corridor." She points towards the elevator.

"Thank you."

"No problem."

When we get up to the 6th floor the elevator doors open and I look around at the different rooms. All the rooms look new and up to date. Many of the rooms are encased in glass, or what looks like it, making me able to see inside them. The rooms have many windows and are filled with sunlight. People type away at their computers, some scribbling down notes. I can also see the security dotted around the place making sure that I'm safe.

I make my way in the direction I was told, my parents following closely behind. When I finally get to the door (which is not see through) I knock to make my presence known.

"I'm in here, dear." I hear a familiar voice say. The voice came from nearby but not from the room so I make my way in the busy room next door.

We walk into the glass room and when we do I see Catherine helping out someone on the computer. Once she's finished she looks up to me. "Hi?" She says looking between me and my parents, her eyes narrowed.

I stand there with my arms crossed while my farther speaks up. "Hi. We're her parents. I'm Paul and that's Susan." My dad says pointing towards my mother when he says her name. I grimace. They hate each other. I know they're just trying to be supportive but it's weird as fuck.

"Sorry but you're not allowed to be here." Catherine tells them.

"Why not? She's our daughter and she owns the company we can go where we want to." My mother says.
