Jackson's POV:
I place the bag on the passenger seat of my car and speed off. I only have just over an hour to get there and back and changed before I have to be at the cinema for Rhi's birthday. Hence the speeding. It's roughly a half an hour drive there and half an hour drive back but I'm determined to do there and back in 40, leaving me about 10 minutes of taking time and 25 minutes to get ready and get to the movies.
I arrive at my destion. A bigger than average sized house stands infront of me. It's surrounded by lots of green land and and a few trees here and there. There isn't a single house (other than the one infront of me) in sight.
I exit my car, grabbing the bag from the seat. I knock on the door but to my avail no one answers. I go round the side of the house in search for the plant pot that contains the spare key. When I see the plant I bend over to reach underneath it and it's there that I find the spare key. I rush over to the front door, not wanting to waste anymore time and I let myself in.
I place the bag down in the kitchen and begin to unpack it, putting away the different shopping items I'd brought. I'm startled by a ringing. The ringing sounds like a phone so I go off in search of it. I luckily locate the old phone just in time and without a second thought I pick it up.
I wait for the caller to say something but nothing. I'm just about to put the phone down when the person speaks up. "Hi this is Mariana."
What the fuck? "Rhi?" I question.
"Jack?" She sounds just as surprised as I am.
"What are you...Why are you calling here? How'd you get this number?" I say confused.
"This was the phone number on the letter."
"It was?"
"Yeah."
I hear the front door open. "I've got to go Rhi. I'll call you back later bye." I say ignoring her protests.
I decide to go to the person who will know the answer to what's happening, the one who was supposed to receive that phone call.
"Jackson." She greets happily. "What are you doing here?"
"I was dropping you off some shopping. We need to talk Grandma."
"What about?" She plays dumb and takes of her coat and hanging it on the rail. She then looks at me in question.
"I just got off the phone with Mariana. She said that you gave her the letter."
"I didn't give her the letter dear. I was just the emergency contact." She makes her way into the living room and takes a seat, motioning for me to sit with her.
This is my opportunity to find out the truth. To satiate not only mine, but my friends curiosity. But all that I can think about is the fact that I'm going to be late. I can't be late. I won't be late. I know she won't show it but Rhi will be pissed at me if I show up late. She'll be freaking out that I'm not going to make it and I don't want to put that stress on her.
"I've got somewhere important to be but this conversation is not over." I say to my grandmother.
I'm walking out to leave when she says "You can't tell anyone, except Mariana. That I'm involved in this. I didn't want you involved in this but you always were a stubborn boy. Bye, have fun."

Mariana's POV:
I look to Tara to see she is just as shocked as I am. So I wasn't imagining it. "Jack?" I ask.
