"i know," joshua says and twirls around toward me.

"im sorry," i sniffle. "i'm sorry i didn't kill her."

"hey hey hey," joshua starts and rushes to my side, "it's okay, t. it's just a video game."

"i... i know but i."

"hey, no buts, we got second place it's fine."

im quiet for a second, just staring at his face.

"shut up and stop being adorable."

"never, t."

-

"FUCKING FUCK."

there's a knock of joshua's door a few hours later.

we exchange looks as he walks toward his bedroom door.

"yeah?" joshua says opening the door.

"are you guys okay? there's been a lot of... cursing, josh."

"yeah fine. the stupid internet keeps kicking tyler out of the game."

"oh. well dinner is almost ready."

"okay."

"would your boyfriend like to join?"

"mooom. shush," joshua shuts the door slightly and looks at me, "would you like to.. eat with my family?"

"can my dad come?"

joshua opens the door, "can his dad join us?"

"of course!" i hear his mom reply.

"she said yeah, t," joshua replies smiling at me.

"he should be home soon, i can ask."

"okay," joshua says and tells his mom what i told him.

he shuts the door a few seconds later.

im anxious, my hands are all sweaty. joshua sits next to me, and i don't scoot closer to him.

"are you.. okay, t?"

"no."

"why?"

"i'm anxious?"

"about what?"

"our families are about to meet."

"oh god you're right."

"yeah."

"now i'm nervous too."

we laugh a little bit.

"can.. we do this tomorrow?"

"tyler."

"i just can't now. i'm sorry, joshua."

"don't be worried, t. i love you, my parents love you. your dad is great just like you. i'm sure they'll love him too."

i lean on his shoulder.

"i don't know what i did to get you."

"by just being yourself, t."
