"i have had a lot gone on in the eighteen years i have been on this planet."
he's quiet. does he want me to go on?
"i.. my mom died."
i almost tell him about the abuse. but that's too far.
too far.
"when?"
"uhm.. a few days before the first time i ghosted you and you thought i was dead."
"oh, i'm sorry.. for your loss."
"it's okay."
i don't really mind. sometimes.
"losing a parent is hard.."
"yeah. she was.."
lie lie lie.
"different."
i don't know what to say next.
"i'm sorry."
"it's okay."
"did you.. did she have a funeral?"
"she did."
"did you go?"
"i did."
"oh."
i ignored the tears falling. i expected him to comment on the tears. but he didn't. he just gives me a hug.
and the silence was comforting.
