My blood My sweat My tears they were wasted

I've walked this path that was supposedly designed for me
I got past every obstacle fighting for what was meant to be mine
I've jumped through loops of fire and crossed an ocean filled with piranhas
I went to countless battles and managed to survive
The wars that were raised upon me crying for my demise

My body My mind My heart they were sacrificed
•
•
When I thought that I'd be met with a standing ovation
Instead I have reached a dead end
Naturally, my knees would bend and I'm on the floor
Blinded by the saltiness covering my vision
Grieving everything that I have lost

•
My lungs My legs My hands they were haggard
•
•
I am sick and tired and utterly exhausted
Every other thought persisting to intrude
Of how all my suffering amounts to nothing
I was always told that this road is the one I should step forward on
To never be tempted by broader, straighter, wider, and more colorful other ones
