If Life Was Just Like When We First Met

My heartbeat falters at every note played

In a nostalgic tune, I found my salvation

The rhythm made as the wand caresses the strings

What opens my doors are softly touched keys

Pool-filled eyes with every blink you see waterfalls

Going high but feeling so low in a pitch-black room

Bent back with no strength to uphold all the weights

A little bit of shivering as my cold fingers touch my skin

Unbearing the ice seeping through my soul

A silence that can't be ignored instead overlooked

Black and white isn't all that a piano is capable of

Warm hands gently holding a frozen heart

Darkness and red, such the dangerous combination

But also kindness never fails those who give

Blue light almost white cherishes the wronged

Embraces the core that is golden and the morals that everlast

No one knows the truth of another so why judge

Reminiscing the good old days remembering the wild times

They say "falling love is like haltering one's own neck"

Then world I choose to bleed for the sake of it

For the sacrifices I made in its pursuit

As a melody slowly fades nearing the end

A new one rises indicating the beginning

Define what life is for you before it's taken away

All the things we do will stay for-evermore
