I'm rummaging through my head
All the songs that could be us
One track after the other
All the lyrics we're speaking
Thinking back to our behind closed doors rendezvous
Our reckless spirit and wild youth
Save me that reflection in your eyes
For them to only see my enchanting smile
Will you forget my lips ?
Maybe my voice ? And hands ?
Can my admiring gaze be something that your mind skips ?
I've written lines and lines about this mysterious creature
That crept in through the night and attempted to steal me away
The little smirk at the corner of your mouth suggesting your succession
And perhaps you did so take that as your win
And I'll have you, as the ultimate champion
The mastermind plans, the mastermind achieves
Maybe you have that little competition in the palm of your hands
But my eyes are looking at a much bigger prize
You accused me of cheating to get it
Baby, if it's for you, I'd commit any crime to claim it as mine
One day you'll wonder and ask "Was it all worth it to be in such pain ?"
Mi alma, to get to know a soul like yours I'd give up worldly matters
"Isn't that too much and all for me ?" please don't be scared I'm well-aware
And trust that I'll have no regrets if we were meant to be parting way
"To have known you honest and true, I'll keep you safe while we're letting go"
Maybe I'll cry maybe you won't
But I know that you'll keep me sound as our hands start to unwind
I'll tell you at some point in our journey may the words never leave my mouth
{You'd be in my last seven minutes when my body is a corpse and my brain is alive}
Our paths have crossed and I hope we walk on the same one
Doubtful as we once were but perhaps more meaningful as we can become
I'm here to hold that space
You're here to paint it blue
We're here to make it ours
hi baby
