If You Were A Poem and I was The Poet

Your voice a sound meant to stand out

When your eyes pierce through my steel armor

The way you spoke played a note

That my heart forgot even existed

Your gaze cuts through the surface pressure

Pulls me like a string wrapped around my finger

Attractive energy with a striking style

Tells me you're quite the remarkable catch

Quiet pace and slow steps

Beautiful hands and soft touches

Noticeable kindness at the corner of your mouth

Sensational conversations lead to wild thoughts

We're meant to be sleeping at night, but are we ?

My lids aren't closing neither are yours

Your notable ego when we're playing your game

Defend the pieces and kill the king

Your arresting arrogance left me in handcuffs

For I am indeed a runaway criminal

Your tender empathy for the victims of being born

And acknowledged sympathy for the pain they live

With every story, a befallen tragedy, see another day

Bedtime tales you painted, agony laced with every brush stroke

You're here, your back must be tired from carrying all that weight

Let me take some of it off, baby you should rest a bit more

Your enticing orbs lure me in to discover your galaxy

Your stars sparkle whenever you're red in the face

Your colors invite me to leave my grays behind

To prove me wrong, you say life is beyond black and white

Your honesty has such a clarity, being truthful avoiding lies

Kill me softly, let your words be the tip of a sword

Stab me through my lungs cut out the air

Cute how your little wishes is to sleep in my arms

Adore how you sink in to my hugs, not letting go

Admire your vague and mysterious charms

Exposing yourself in the unfiltered midnights low

You spell out your highs, drunk slurred speech

No one will ever be like you, no sun has shone before you did

Making my life center you and none other ever will

Everyday passes, the lessons you teach

It's an illusion all in your head, mentally exhausted

Sometimes you have to risk the pawns to win the war

Ruin what they deem as their "good name" don't walk away not having said a thing

No elephant should be left in the room

And much more that I have learned and obtained its knowledge
