Chapter Twenty Six New Year Eve

                                                              4:30 December 31st New Years Eve

(Author's Note) This Chapter contains mentions of cutting and attempted suicide. 

(Summer Marie Rose Schnee) Once Kelly and I got back from our date I opened the front door to the manor and I saw Mom standing there with a frown on her face and I could tell that I was going to get it and so I said I will head upstairs to start my punishment mom and I then placed a kiss on her cheek before I headed to the stairs and I then started to ascend them and once I had reached the second floor I walked to our bedroom and I then put all of my electronics into the lock box under the bed and I then locked them into the trunk and I then sat on the bed and I felt the regret and shame ebbing through my body and mind I felt so guilty for my decision not only for lying about my age but also for making Grunkle Qrow and Mom worry about me. I sighed and I then I got so deep in thought I didn't sense another person in the room with me and so I looked up and I saw my Uncle Whitley standing in front of bed with a soft smile on his face and Uncle Whitley then said Do you mind if I sit down on your bed Summer and I said go ahead Uncle Whitley and so he sat down on my bed next to me. 

(Whitley Schnee) Once Weiss and Ruby had told me what Summer had done while on her date with Kelly I thought that it wouldn't hurt to go and keep her company while she stayed in the room that her and Kelly shared until it was dinner time and so I left Weiss's office and I headed to Kelly & Summer's room and I gently knocked on the door before I entered and once inside the bedroom I saw that Summer was in deep thought and so I waited patiently at the foot of the bed with a soft smile on my face and once Summer had noticed me I said do you mind if I sit down on your bed Summer? Summer replied that I could join her on the bed and after I had sat down on the bed a moment of silence had passed before I said So your mom and Momma told about what happened hun which caused Summer's face to become even more downcast and I then continued by saying I'm not mad sweetie I know how you feel because I did something similar to what you did and Summer then said Really Uncle Whitley? Her question caused me to chuckle and I then said really hun, Five years prior to your birth I was in a very deep depression, After I had graduated from one of Vale's most prestigious medical schools I attempted to apply for any hospital or clinic that would hire me and after waiting for months on end without any offers or even interviews I fell into a deep depression since I was dealing with serious student loan debt that I couldn't pay off and then Summer asked Why didn't you use your extensive monthly allowance to help pay off some of the debt Uncle Whitley? I then continued by saying once Weiss had taken control of the SDC I stepped down as acting CEO of the company and I gave it all to Weiss which included my share of the company as well as my monthly allowance and I then applied to medical school to become a doctor so that way I could help people without becoming a hunter. 

Anyways in order to help numb myself of the debt that I was sitting on I started to drink heavily as well as cutting myself which caused Summer to gasp and I then continued by saying I still have many scars that are scattered on my body and my wake up call to seek help was after a really bad day I cut very deep into my chest leaving two long lines of cuts that ran down on both sides of my chest and after I had lost a considerable amount of blood I collapsed onto the floor here at the manor and I then drifted into unconsciousness and when I woke up about five months later I saw that I was in the hospital and I was hooked up to many machines and when I had looked to my left I saw your Aunt Winter sitting in the chair that was next to the bed and she was crying heavily and so I whispered to her Winter are you okay and do you know what she did next and Summer shook her head and I said Winter did something she hadn't done since I was five years old before she stood up from the chair and she carefully pulled me into a hug which she hadn't given to me since I was five years old and she held me tightly while tears ran down her face and once she broke off the hug she said You gave all of us a heart attack Whitley but did you know that your near death experience has snapped mother out of her drinking and she has started to reconnect with us all Whitley. 

Winter then asked me the question that I was dreading that she would ask, Winter said with unshed tears why did you try to end your life little brother and I said I just wanted the pain and stress of debt to be gone and your Aunt Winter said in a soft voice why didn't you call mother or I or even Weiss we would have found a way to help you little brother and I said I thought that the three of you would be better off without me around I said glumly which caused Winter to slap me on the cheek and she said softly Whitley what happened when you were a teenager while you were under father's thumb wasn't your fault because you weren't the only one that father had manipulated into doing his bidding and besides do you know how much mother Weiss and I would feel if you were no longer with us even though we all don't always get along it doesn't mean that we don't love and care about you little brother and if it makes you feel better little brother Weiss Mother & I will help you pay off your debts so that way you can continue with your life debt free. 

I then hugged your Auntie Winter and she gently held me while I cried sweetie, Anyways I'm happy that I hadn't left this life because I wouldn't have met your Your Aunt Jessica and we would have had your cousin Annabelle which caused Summer to smile, Summer & I then talked for about four hours until it was time to eat dinner, After dinner all of the Schnee & Rose Schnee's along with the Belladonna's Branwen's Vanille's and the others stayed up till midnight to watch the ball drop and signal the arrival of the new year at around 1:30 am then next day we all went to bed.
