Sixteen Years Ago

(Blake Xiao Long) After we had left the hospital I drove Weiss downtown where we would do some shopping as well as eat something for lunch, I looked in the mirror and I saw that Weiss was sleeping in the backseat of my car and I could also see a few bags under her eyes from the lack of sleep that she has been getting.

I returned my gaze to the road and I couldn't help but smile at the though that in a few months Yang & I will have a little niece to love and care for, I'm so happy for Ruby & Weiss on growing their family, I know that they will be good parents I should know since I have known both of them half their lives the first few weeks will be a big adjustment but I know that they can do it.

I hope that Ruby's feeling a bit better, I will check on her when I drop Weiss back off later in the day, After a forty minute drive we had finally arrived in the downtown district and as I drove I saw my favorite cafe that was on the corner of Main St & South Ave and so I pulled my car into an empty parking spot and I then turned off the car and I then got out.

After I had gotten out I opened the rear door and I then gently shook Weiss's shoulder and I said softly Weiss we have arrived downtown and Weiss slowly started wake and I just stood there patiently waited for Weiss to fully wake up from her little nap, after about ten minutes Weiss had fully woken up and she said sorry for falling asleep and I said It wasn't a problem Weiss come on I bet that you are hungry and Weiss said I sure am I then led her to the cafe.

Once inside the cafe which was called The Friendly Cat Weiss & I we led over to an empty both where Weiss sat down while I went to get us some coffee to drink, I got in line and the line wasn't to long, there probably wasn't more than five people ahead of me in line, Once I had reached the counter I then placed our orders and I waited for our coffee, After five minutes I was headed back to the booth with two cups of coffee in hand.

When I had reached our booth I sat down before I handed Weiss her coffee and she asked me Blake how much was the coffee? and I said it was eleven lien and Weiss said as she reached into her purse I want to pay you back for paying for my coffee and I said Weiss you don't need to pay me back for anything today, The whole will be buying you stuff that you need for the baby.

Weiss was intially hesitant to it but she relented fairly quickly, I then asked how are you and Ruby doing? Weiss took a sip of coffee before she said we are doing good though we have had a few disagreements over many thing during the last few weeks, I feel awful when that happens Blake and I said Weiss you need to remember that this will pass when your daughter arrives and though it may intially be a struggle you both will make it through it.

Did I ever tell you when Adam had informed me five years ago that him and Alicia were having Taylor they both were at a loss of what to do at first but they quickly figured out a routine that worked for both of them, and nine months later Taylor was born and they couldn't be happier though that would last long because this was during the most dangerous times during the war and Adam couldn't afford to have Salem to find out about his family.

Weiss then asked me Blake do you miss Adam? I took a deep breath and I said there are day that I do and I wish that I had been there for him in his final moments of life but sadly I couldn't which is why I share custody of Taylor & Devon with Alicia though she need help bad she has become a drug addict.

Weiss & I spent the day together and then I took her home and while she went upstairs to rest I stayed downstairs and I nursed Ruby back to health.
