Chapter One Hundred & Forty Seven The Sparrow Visits Winter

May 10th

Sixteen Years Earlier

(Summer Rose) So last night I traveled to Patch with Raven and I was able to make up with Taiyang, even though I couldn't stay long I did enjoy my time at the cabin after an hour of sitting and chatting with both Raven & Tai I decided that it was time to leave and fly back to my campsite for the night, Once I had arrived back at my campsite and I then ate a snack before I got ready for bed and then I crawled into my sleeping bag and I then zipped up my tent before I went to sleep for the night.

When I woke up this morning I ate breakfast and got ready for the day and I then transformed into my sparrow form and I flew to visit my goddaughter Winter at her apartment, after a long five hour flight I had finally arrived at Winter's apartment address and once I had landed I transformed back into my human form and I then walked over the front door and I then knocked on the door and I waited for the door to open and I didn't have to wait long.
 
Once the day had opened Winter and we locked eyes and she asked in a whisper Aunt Summer is that really you? I said with a nod yes it really is me my little snowflake and Winter flung the door wide open and she ran into my waiting arms and she started crying hard into my shoulder and all the while I just held her as she cried her heart out.

I thought to myself that Winter fully grown up and that I missed out on some much of her life the last time that I saw her was just two days before I left for my fateful confrontation with Salem, Winter was a seven year old little girl and here she's standing front of me at the age of twenty five and even though I had missed out on a lot of her life I want to be able to rekindle our bond.

Once we had broken off the embrace Winter said please come inside Aunt Summer we have so much to discuss and I said I agree snowflake, Winter then led me inside and we both sat down on the couch and Winter asked me do you want anything to drink Aunt Summer? I then said not right now sweetheart and Winter responded back alright if you want anything to eat or drink don't hesitate to ask and I said I will keep that in mind thank you.

Winter then asked Where have you been all this time Aunt Summer? I then said with a sigh sorry that's classified dear and I don't want to endanger anyone with the information of where I have been, I can say that I have been a Huntress for hire by some unsavory people though I don't think that you would want to hear about it and Winter said with a sigh I guess that you are right Aunt Summer.

As I was talking I noticed the diamond engagement ring on her fing and so I asked who's your special somebody sweetie? Winter said with a blush Qrow Branwen and I said congradulations dear, I'm so proud of you as well as the fine young woman that you've become and Winter said thanks Aunt Summer, I then asked How's your family doing snowflake? Winter said Mom, Weiss & Whitley are doing fine.

I then said Weiss must be at least twenty three by now and Winter said yes Weiss is currently twenty three and she is happily married to her spouse and I then asked Oh I am excited to meet him/her and Winter said Weiss's spouse just happens to be your daughter Ruby, I know that my jaw was on the floor when Winter had informed me this info but I couldn't be happier for my baby girl than I was at the moment.

Anything else of intrest Winter? Winter then said Weiss & Ruby are expecting their first child together and I couldn't believe that I was going to be grandma to a grandchild, Winter and I talked for several hours until it started to get dark so I decided that it was time to fly back to my campsite, After another five hour flight I had arrived back at my campsite and I then got ready for bed before I fell asleep feeling happy with how all of my loved ones were doing.
