Chapter One Hundred and Sixty Four Mackenzie and Salem

June 14th

(Salem)

I was up late working in my office when I heard the sound of whimpering and so I went to investigate the sound, As I walked through the castle I continued to follow the sound.

When I had arrived outside of Mackenzie's room I placed my ear against the door and I listened and I could hear her tossing and turning as well breathing heavily, the little one sounded like she was having a nightmare.

I pushed the door open and I then walked into the room and I then made it over to the bed and I then sat down on the bed and I gently pulled her into my arms and I then began to rock her back and forth, As I was rocking her I said it's okay little one granny's got you.

Mackenzie's breathing slowly began to even out and she slowly began to wake up, and when she opened her green eyes and she looked up into my blue eyes I asked Are you okay darling?

Mackenzie said bad nightmare granny and I said I know hun I could hear you whimpering from my study, Do you want to talk about it and Mackenzie said there was a man with brown eyes and he was causing massive problems and chaos in the kingdoms granny.

I knew who she was talking about she was talking about my ex husband, I knew that it wasn't the time to tell Mackenzie who the man is at this time purely because she is to little to know about him, though I will tell her when she's much older.

I continued to rock her back and forth until she fell back asleep and I as went to stand up Mackenzie grasped my hand and she said in a whimper please don't leave granny, I looked into her green eyes and I saw that there was terror in them, I took a deep breath and I then said alright princess I won't leave.

I then crawled into bed with Mackenzie and I looked at the foot of the bed and I saw one of my many Alpha Grimm's was laying on the floor, I got the feeling that this Grimm would be Mackenzie's protector while she is here.

I smiled and I then pulled Mackenzie into my chest and I then said goodnight princess I love you and I will always be here for you should you ever need me, I then placed a kiss onto her forehead and then I went to sleep myself.
