Chapter One Hundred & Forty Three Gender Reveal Party pt 2

Sixteen Years ago

(Raven Xiao Long) Once I had finished making breakfast I walked over to the table and I then placed a plate of bacon and eggs covered in hot sauce since one of Weiss's cravings is hot sauce on everything and I said enjoy and Weiss responded back timidly thank you, I sat down across from Weiss and I said you know that you don't have to be afraid of me Weiss I won't hurt you I promise.

I know that when we first met at Haven Academy all those years ago wasn't the best first meeting, though since that day I have tried to make amends with everyone whom I have hurt in the past, I want you to know that if you or Ruby need anything and I mean anything don't be afraid to contact me for help, Even though Ruby isn't biologically mine I love her like she is mine, You know that whenever I look at Ruby I see Summer every time.

Summer was my partner and best friend and in a way we were like sisters even though we didn't always see eye to eye we still cared about each other, When I first found out that I was pregnant with Yang I didn't know who to turn to but thankfully Summer was there to congradulate me with the joys of motherhood. I was scared of the fact that I was going to be a mother at the young age of nineteen though do to Summer's support I was ready the ride.

You don't need to be nervous around me Weiss, you make Ruby happy which to me is what matters most. I know that wherever Summer is she's smiling down at you both and she would be very proud of both of you for all that you have done for Remnant and I know that may come across as uncaring or non- maternal but deep down I do care for my friend's & extended family dearly.

When Ruby was born so long ago I visited Summer at the hospital the day before Ruby was born around 8 in the morning and when I arrived in the hospital room I locked eyes with Summer and I felt ashamed for leaving her with the responsibity of raising Yang with Tai, I apologized repeatedly for the decision that I had made but when I had revealed why I left Summer understood my reasoning and she motioned for me over to the bed and she asked me if I would stay with her during the delivery process and I agreed to stay.

I sat next to the bed and I held Summer's hand while she began pushing Ruby out, it was a long twenty four hour delivery but I never left Summer's side because like I said Summer is like my little sister I couldn't bear to leave her alone in the delivery room, at one point Summer looked at me and said Raven I can't do it, I said to her with one of my rare smiles Summer you can do it you're one of the strongest people that I know be strong for your baby.

Summer took my words and she then continued pushing all the while I held her hand and I kept offering praise to her and around eight the next morning which was Halloween a baby's cry rang out in the room and I smiled when I heard Ruby making her arrival in the world, After Tai had cut the cord a nurse took Ruby away to clean her as well weigh and measure her.

I looked over at Summer and I could tell that she was beyond tired due to the twenty four hour delivery, after the nurse came back Summer began to nurse Ruby while I pulled a curtain around Summer to give her and Ruby some privacy, once Ruby had been fed I said to Summer why don't you sleep for a while Sum and in the meantime I will take care of Ruby for you and Tai since he's somewhere else in the hospital at the moment, Summer has hesitant at first but she relented.

I gently picked up Ruby and I held her in my arms and I took care of her for a couple of hours, I made a silent vow to protect and love Ruby just like I always loved and protected her mother while at Beacon.
