Chapter Eighty Eight Neo & Cinder's Heart to Heart

March 11th 

(Trivia Vanille) After the game night was finished I went to check on Cinder, Because I got the feeling that she might want someone to talk to especially after such a draining conversation that she had with Blake and Yang. 

Once I had reached the living room I looked over at the couch and I saw Cinder crying the sight of Cinder crying broke my heart I have never seen Cinder so overcome with emotions, As I walked closer my maternal instincts took over and I then took a seat next to Cinder and I then pulled her into my arms and I held her tightly as she continued to cry all the while I whispered sweet nothings.

Once Cinder had calmed down and the she looked me in the eyes and she asked Neo is that really you? I said with a small smile yes it really is me Cinder, Cinder then said I wanted to apologize for the horrible things that I said about you prior to Salem's fall, I said I have forgiven you Cinder, I then asked what you said back there is it true? Cinder just nodded her head and I said I guess that confirms the suspicions that I had about your relationship with Salem. 

Cinder looked at me and she said in a whisper You knew? I chuckled softly and I said I always had a hunch but I felt that it wasn't my place to ask such personal questions Cinder, Besides I always respected you. I then asked a question Cinder did you ever find out if you had any other living relatives besides Salem as your mother? 

Cinder said I did some research into my extended family tree and the only living relative that I could find was an aunt named Trivia Vanille though I was only able to get the name since other details were hidden, I then decided that it was time for me to reveal the secret that I wanted to tell for years but I prevented myself from telling Cinder.

I then took Cinders hands into my hands and I held them before I took a deep breath and then I said Cinder your aunt is sitting in this room and she really wanted to tell you the truth for a long time but she forced to keep it a secret and do know that she really loves you, I then took another deep breath before I said Cinder I'm your aunt Trivia Vanille.

After a few minutes of pure silence Cinder looked at me with a hurt look on her face and she asked me a question, If what you say is true and I'm not doubting you Neo then why didn't you take me away from Salem when you were there? 

I then said I really wanted to take you away but when I confronted Salem one night about how she was treating you and that I demanded full custody of you since your father appointed me as your guardian in the event that he or your birth mother Carrie weren't able to take care of you for any given reason.      

Salem basically laughed in my face and she then slashed me with her sword across my back and the sword left a long gash on my back that took weeks to heal though the scar of where the cut originally was is still there, anyways I really wanted to take you out of the hell-hole that we were in but I couldn't I'm sorry.

I then continued telling my story and once I had finished my story I looked at Cinder and she removed her hands from mine and then she threw her arms around me and she said with tears of joy streaming down her face I love you Aunt Trivia and then Cinder said something that surprised me I never knew just closely related we are though I had feeling that you would protect and love me in more than a friend-like way.

I then said I have something that your father and mother gave to me just after you were born and just prior to Tyrian kidnapping you from the hospital, I then walked over to my guest room and I then walked into the closet and I grabbed two items one being a copy of the birth certificate that was given to me to hold onto and the other item is a locket that had a picture of Cinder's father Gabriel her mother Carrie a sleeping baby Cinder and a younger looking me in the hospital overlooking Cinder in her bassinet.

I then walked back out to the living room and I handed Cinder her birth certificate and she then looked at the certificate and she then asked so my real name's Cynthia May Vanille and I just nodded and then I handed Cynthia the locket and I said open it dear, Cynthia then opened the locket and she asked is that my real parents Aunt Trivia? I then said yes dear those are you parents, I then sat on the couch and Cynthia and I watched a movie until we both fell asleep on the couch.
