Chapter Fifty Ultrasound & Gender

                                                                                                                               January 30th
(Emerald Sustrai) I was had just finished up with a patient and they had just left the room when the head nurse Debby came in and she said Dr Sustrai your 10:30 ultrasound appointment is here and I said thank you Debby  I quickly walked over to the sink and I washed my hands and then I dried them off before I then walked out of the room and I then walked out to the waiting room and when I got out there I said Trivia Vanille I will see you now and Trivia then stood up and she walked over to me and I then said follow me and I then led Trivia down the hallway before we took a left hand turn down another hallway and once we had reached room twenty two I said right this way.

Once inside room twenty two I closed the door behind me once I had entered the room and once we were finally alone Neo hugged me and I returned the hug and I asked how are you doing Neo? and Neo said I've been great Em and I said that's wonderful to hear dear, I then asked are you excited to find out the gender of your baby and Neo said I am very excited Emerald and I said I glad, you know the drill Neo and Neo removed her shirt and then she laid down on the examination table and I then went to retrieve the ultrasound machine.

Once I had retrieved the ultrasound machine I then walked back to room twenty two and once inside the room I then plugged in the machine and I then put on a pair of latex gloves and I also grabbed a bottle of Ecovue and I then walked over to Neo and I then put a little bit of Ecovue on my gloves and I then said this might be a little cold Neo and she then said with a smile thanks for the warning Em, I then rubbed the gel onto Neo's stomach which caused her shiver and I couldn't help but giggle at Neo's reaction to the gel. I then wheeled over the ultrasound machine and I then took the wand and I ran then did the ultrasound and after a few seconds of running the wand across Neo's stomach and a form appeared on the monitor and what I saw brought a tear to my eye and I then said Neo do you see the figure on the monitor and she nodded her head and she said yes I see them Em and I then said that's your baby hun.

When Neo saw her growing baby she had tears running down her face and I then examined the baby further I noticed that it was a little baby boy. I then asked Do you want to know the gender Neo? Neo nodded her head and I then said with the biggest smile on my face Neo you and Will are going to have a beautiful baby boy and Neo said in a whisper I still can't believe that in eight months time I will be a mom once again Em, I don't know if I'm ready to be a mother to another child & what if I fail as a mother, I then gently placed my gloved hand on her shoulder and I gave it a gentle squeeze before I said Neo you're going to be an amazing mom and you won't fail your baby just look at Kelly you've given her an amazing life even while you were still sorting out your life ten years ago.

Besides you'll know what to do when your new baby arrives and even though you and William will have some struggles being parents to a baby just remember that you won't be alone I promise, Neo then said Thanks Em for the pep talk and I waved off the praise and I said it was noting Neo besides as your surrogate big sister it's part of my job I finished with a chuckle and I then asked how'd Kelly take it when you both told her the news and Neo said Kelly she took it very well and she's very excited at the prospect of being a big sister and even though there will be a fifteen to sixteen year age gap she will always be there for her little brother Em and I said with a smile I'm glad to hear that Neo.

I then said I can't wait to spoil my nephew which caused Neo to groan and she said you're going to spoil him like you spoiled Kelly when she was very young and you still spoil her even now Em, I then said with a giggle hey I'm trying to cement my place as the cool Auntie. Neo then said you are going to be the death of me sis and I then said yep while popping the p. I then said why don't I come over after work and we can catch up more and I also wanted to show you some ideas that I have come up with for the nursery and Neo then said alright sounds good but please make sure that you let Daniel know that you won't be home until late to night and I said teasingly alright I will let him know mom which caused Neo to facepalm.

After a few more minutes of talking Neo then left the room and I then went through the rest of my work day before I got off of work around six thirty five and I then headed over to Neo's place.
