Chapter Fifty Eight Auntie Comfort

(Kelly Vanille) As I sat in my first period I was wracked with worry for Uru and I berated myself for not arriving soon and with me arriving late, I thought to myself that Uru has started to earn my trust again.  As I sat at my desk I couldn't focus on what Professor Goodwitch was teaching and as I was lost in thought I heard someone clear their throat so I looked up and I saw that Professor Goodwitch looking at me with a look of concern written on her face and she then spoke asking Are you okay Ms. Vanille? And I said not really Professor and she said what happened and I then filled her in on what had happened in the Emerald Forest and as I finished telling her everything that happened I could feel tears run down my face. 

I then said in a shaky voice I wasn't fast enough to get there in time to help Uru when she really needed me Professor and because I wasn't fast enough she got injured severely by the Alpha Grimm Beowolf and I feel that I failed her by not being there when she was alone, Professor took a deep breath and she asked Where is Ms. Schnee at the moment and I said she's in the infirmary under the watchful eyes of Dr. Elizabeth & Nurse Torchwick.

 I then mumbled this is all my fault and Professor Goodwitch said Kelly none of this is your fault if there's anyone to be blamed for what happened it would have to be Professor Pine me and the upperclassmen teams for not patrolling the forest as thoroughly as we should have and for that I'm sorry.  

Tell you what why don't I talk to Professor Pine after the school day is over and I can see if we can either postpone Uru's punishment until she is one hundred percent better, I then said with a faint smile Thanks Professor and Professor Goodwitch said You're welcome Ms. Vanille now would you please pay attention on the lecture and I said Yes Professor and Professor Goodwitch said good and then she walked to the front of the room and she resumed the lecture. 

Once first period had ended I had about an hour and a half before my next lecture which was the history of Remnant with Professor Angelica Goodwitch so I decided to go and visit my adopted niece Uru in the infirmary and once I had reached the infirmary what I saw shattered my heart, lying in a bed was Uru with a broken right arm and she had a few iv's as well as a heart monitor hooked up to her I thought that might have been all of her injuries until I looked at her medical chart and when I read the rest of injuries I know that my face turned white. 

After I had finished reading the medical chart I then walked over to a chair that was next to the bed and I then took a seat in the chair and I then reached over and I took Uru's hand into mine and I held it and I then brushed my thumb against her hand and I said on the verge of tears I'm so very very sorry sweetie I should have been faster to get to you and because I wasn't fast enough you got hurt very badly. 

But I promise that I will be by your side twenty four seven while you recover, I felt Uru grasp my hand and she then gave me a gentle squeeze and then Uru said Aunt Kelly it isn't your fault that I got hurt and besides there really isn't anything that you could have done to prevent me from getting hurt, She then said Aunt Kelly I really am sorry for what I said last week and I then stood up from the chair and I sat on the left side of the bed and I then placed my hands under her chin. 

After I took a deep breath I then sighed before I spoke saying Sweetie what you said last week really hurt me especially after you said it initially but I have been able to think it over and I want you to know that even after what you said I still love you and I learned from Professor Pine & Goodwitch that you didn't really mean what you said, I then said if you were jealous of me why didn't you come and talk to me about how you were feeling and Uru said I really don't know why I didn't talk to you how I was feeling Auntie Kelly. 

I then reached over and I gently pulled my adoptive niece into my arms while being careful of the wires and I then carefully held her in my arms like I did when she was a little girl, I then said Sweetie you have a long road ahead of you in terms of your injuries as well as your punishment but just know that I am proud of you especially the smart and beautiful young woman that you're becoming and just know that If you ever feel like you need someone to talk to I will always be here for and Uru said Really? I said Really honey I then placed a kiss on her forehead and I just held her in my arms until I had about ten minutes before my second period was about to start but before I left the infirmary I covered up Uru and I then left for second period.
