It has been 4 days since Christina 's bday . , I have been avoiding Shane or maybe he was avoiding me to . Only a couple of glances in the school hallway , or as he walks by the kitchen or living room to leave .
He has not spoken to me . I don't know why I thought he would . I still don't know what he meant in our last conversation. Now I fit in . I have started fitting in . It is nice to have friends I was so lonely and upset the first day of school I kept thinking it would be like that forever . But now I have friends I really like them even the boys they hang with . But I can't pretend that Shane's words don't play in my mind .
I talk on the phone with my mother and father , really just checking in . Everything is fine . I just miss them so much . I am hurt and get sad a lot . When I am with people the pain eases But at night when I am about to go to sleep I can feel so deeply.
I will go work out then take a shower then go down stairs for supper with the Pitts
The Pitts have a huge exercise room in there house .
They actual have a poster of Richard simians .
After a long work out I am sweaty .
I go into my room and take my air pods out and put them up . Then I remember Shane and gave me his that night when he kept blaring his music . I really do think it is strange that he has not blared his music since but I am so glad that he didn't .
I guess he should have his air pods back .
So I walk over to his door and knock .
I will just give him his air pods and leave .
" Hey " he says as he opens his door.
He looks tired but handsome still .
He looks at me and he seems to take a deep breath.Then he looks me up and down.
" I am just returning these" I tell him
I hand them to him .
He don't reach out for a second he just looks me then he smiles and then he takes them . I feel his hand and it causes a sweet feeling but I don't know what it is . I look at him he is looking at me with a intense look I know it is crazy but I want to kiss him , I don't understand , I mean he is rude and he don't like me so why would I want to kiss him .
I back myself away .
" well good night " I say and turn to leave .
" How is Derek ?" He asks me
Why is he asking me this ?
" What " I say
He just looks .
" How is Samantha?" I shoot back
" How would I know " he says
He has a serious look on his flawless face .
" Well you have a better chance of knowing how she is the am I would how Derek is since she is your girlfriend." I tell him
And I only realize after I say it that I had a little sass when I said it .
His eye brow raises.
" I just thought, I don't know what I thoughtt" he stutters
I think this is the 1 st time I seen him stutter.
" ok " I say and start walk away
" Where are you going now ?" He asks
" I am going to take a quick shower before supper " I answer him
He just nods.
At supper we are having , roast and with lots of veggies and mashed potatoes. And of course corn bread . a true southern meal .
I can remember when I was a little girl , Linda had a recipe for mashed potatoes and it so good .
" Let's say grace kids " Linda says then her face changes , she sees something I can tell I look behind me , and Shane is walking up .
" Shane " Linda barley says
He sits down not close to anyone but he is sitting at the table , and I can tell by their faces this is something that he don't do a lot . I know Jessica had said but I see it is true , I thought she was exaggerating .
Then Greg says the Grace .
Afterwords I see tears are in Linda's eyes .
I put the food on my plate and take a bite of them mashed potatoes .
" Linda I can remember these from when I was a little kid they are so good and really like no mashed potatoes I have ever ate anywhere " I say in hopes to change the mood a bit .
" Yes dear it is a old family recipe sweet pea " she says
" Girl it is a south thing . " Shane claims
I look at him and then I notice everyone else is looking at him too. He takes a drink of his tea .
After supper Mr. and Mrs. Pitts tell us they are going to a friends game night .
They leave as I get up from the table .
" I wonder when we are all older and married if we would go to a game night with friends ." Jessica states
Shane laughs and says
" I can imagine you doing something like that .
Then he laughs again .
I look at Jessica who is looking at her brother with a strange look.
" Whatever they will be gone for a while so I am gonna call our crew and we can hang it will be fun" she says to me
" If you want to hang you can call your friends , and you can invite Samantha " she tells her brother .
His face seems to have turned

" I have not met your friends "I say because I just thought it .
He looks at me .
" That is because he don't have any " Jessica says and laughs
" I have friends 2 cool dudes " he says as he is texting on his phone .then he runs his hand threw his hair I don't know why but just looking at him doing that I feel very attracted to him
We get some snacks out and clean up the living room .
" What about your butler and house keeper and cook." I ask
" They all stay in the 3 guest houses on the premises." Shane informs me
Jessica walks around the Conner ,
" Shane you didn't tell Samantha to come over ." She asks her brother
He just looks at her blankly
" I just got off the phone with her she knew nothing about it ." Jessica claims
" You are such a lame boyfriend " she says
" I did " he says then he looks down at his phone
Shane sits on the couch and holds a throw pillow he looks like he don't feel good or that he is dreading this get together . I really wouldn't have thought we would be doing this tonight but I am going to try to have a good time . !!!!
" The text didn't go threw " he adds
