Y/n's pov:

Its my graduation and i wake up to my mom making pancakes. " morning honey." She smiles and kisses my head after giving me a plate of pancakes. " hi mom." I reply.

" has matt called." I ask. She shakes her head and i nod. I call him in my room and it goes to voice mail. " hi, just call me when you can. I love you." I say.

Matt's pov:

I see the missed call when i get out the shower. I call back and she answers. " hello." I say. I hear crackling on the other end of the line. " hi matt, are you coming to my graduation. Its at 1pm and i reserved you and your family seats. She says and i smile.

My plan is to say i cant go but then turn up and surprise her. I packed up and drove to my parents house last night and Chris and nick both came too.

" im sorry baby, i have to finish my assignment for today, and i have a meeting with my teacher at 1." I say and she sighs in the phone. " oh okay, i get it. Good luck." She says and i smile.

" you will do so good today baby. I love you." I say and get changed for today, i wear the cauderoys that y/n got me and her favourite shirt on me.

" i love you too." She says and hangs up. I head down for breakfast and my mom and brothers are eating toast.

" oh honey, you look so handsome." My mom says and slips her arm around my waist to hug me. " thanks mom." I say and she smiles.

" come on i want to get there before she does so she dosent see me going in." I say and my mom smiles. " we have plenty of time the ceremony starts at 1 and its only 10:46." My mom reassures me and heads upstairs to get dressed. " what are you guys wearing." I ask. " my cauderoys and a sweater." Nick says and i nod. " a shirt and jeans." Chris says and i nod.

An hour later were in the car and driving to the school. Id never thought id be going back here. I lead the family to our seats. Were on the second row and the seniors are on the other side of the field and wont see us. I sink into the seat and my mom puts her hand on mine and kisses my cheek.

Y/n's pov:

" come on mom, alice is already there." I whine from the back seat. She waves me off and drives. " i cant go 50 in a 30." She says and i roll my eyes.

I sit with my friends and im shifting so uncomfortably in my robe. " hey, exited. Is matt here?" Alice asks. She holds my hand and i shake my head. " Nah, he's busy at college." I explain and she nods. " that will be us soon." She squeals and the headmaster asks us for attention.

" hello. Parents and seniors. Soon to be college freshman. Im so exited to be sending these young people to start their lives. And im so happy to have carried them to this point in their lives. Okay first person. Alice young, come up stage." He announces and alice squeals and heads up.

After half an hour my name is next and once she announces my name i make my way up on stage and my eyes travel to my family and i see matt sat there with a bouquet of roses.

" Y/N  Y/L/N!!!!" He announces and matt stands up and claps. I take my diploma and shake the headmasters hand.

I run off the stage and matt gets out of his seat and runs and hugs me. " i thought you were busy." I say and he shakes his head. " you were at my graduation, im at yours." He says and i smile. I kiss him and sit on the edge of his seat.

"Im dating a college girl." He smiles and i laugh. " hey, im dating an older college guy." I laugh and he does too.

A couple months later...

" ill miss this place." I say. Its midnight and were at Denny's and its the night before i leave for college and matt goes back. I got into the same college matt did and im doing a lit course.

" i know, theres no Denny's near campus, just a McDonalds and in and out." He says, his hand slides around my waist and i lean my head on his shoulder.

Move in day:

Ive been up since 6 am re packing my suitcase 3 times and i keep changing my box of books i want to take.

My mom comes in at 7 and she sits on my bed while i put last minute things in boxes. " ill miss you. Aww only boys in the house." She wines and i laugh. " ill call all the time, you will be sick of me." I say and she shakes her head.
" never could be." She says.

We unpack my room and im in room D4. I make my bed and add my decor while my dad builds my vanity and my mom hangs my clothes up. I hear a knock on the door and its a blonde haired girl. " hey im alice." She says.

" im y/n. Im your roommate i guess." I say and she smiles. She puts a box on her bed and her suitcase next to the wardrobe.

" y/n?" Matt asks. I walk up to him and hug him. " oh its so nice here." He says. I smile and introduce him to alice. " hey." She says.

I say goodbye to my parents and head back and alice is still unpacking. " need help." I ask. " can you help me make the bed, im too short to reach." She laughs. I help her and she thanks me.

Matt comes in and flops on my bed. " i have to study for an hour or so but wanna head to dinner at like 6 ish. I think theres a mixer for new comers in the lobby ill meet you there at 6." He says and i nod. " yep sounds good. Wanna come alice. We could go to the mixer together." I ask and she smiles and agrees. " thanks, its a new town. I dont know anyone." She says and i smile. I kiss matt goodbye and he says hell see me soon.

Later...

Were walking back from dinner and its dark out and the halls are empty. I guess everyone is nervous for their first day.

" wanna stay in my room tonight." He asks me and i shake my head. " not on my first night." I say. " sure. Tomorrow." He smiles and i nod. He walks us to our room and alice walks in.

" whens your class tomorrow?" He asks. " 10am." I say. " everything gets real today."
I say and he smiles. He kisses me and i kiss him back. " see you tomorrow." I say and head into the room and get into my pyjamas before going to bed.
