Chapter One: Lovey

Izuku is a sweet tooth.

But his stomach churns at the sight of all the red and pink hearts plastered on the walls, and his teeth ache as he watches couples make out in the middle of the halls.

Valentine's Day is a holiday he's always dreaded.

Already considered an outcast of society from the moment he was deemed Quirkless, he feels even more lonesome whenever the day of love rolled around. To the surprise of nobody, no one would bother to give him any Valentine gifts or chocolates. He's never even been on a proper date before.

And so, he keeps his eyes downcast and stares at his shoes while he makes his way to his classroom. He arrives at his desk and, as expected, it's barren of any heart-shaped boxes or roses.

But that's okay.

Because he isn't the only one.

Izuku slips his backpack off and sits down at his desk before peering at a certain blond from the corner of his eye.

As far as Izuku knows, Katsuki has never gotten any chocolates either, and simply imagining him on a date is ludicrous. While Katsuki isn't considered an outcast, he isn't treated like an average member of society either.

Katsuki and Izuku are on the opposite ends of the spectrum, to put it simply. Nobody approaches Izuku because he's not good enough for it, and nobody approaches Katsuki because he's too good for it.

Katsuki is at the top of the hierarchy while Izuku is a bottom-feeder. People treat Katsuki like a god, so he acts like one and judges them like one. He could cast someone into exile, putting a target on them to be persecuted and bullied if he so pleases.

Not that Katsuki has to do anything for Izuku to be treated the way he is, but he does anyway.

So Izuku shouldn't feel too guilty taking comfort in the fact that they're both alone for Valentine's Day.

Too bad that moment of respite is short-lived.

The bell tolls, signaling the end of class and the beginning of Valentine's celebration for the lucky couples. Izuku tunes out the excited giggles and chatter of his classmates and silently packs his bag, more than ready to get back home.

However, right as he walks out the door, somebody crashes right into him.

"O-Oh, oh my god, I'm so sorry!"

The flustered girl apologizes as she scrambles for her fallen items. Izuku offers a reassuring smile and assists her in picking up her things. He's about to hand her the pink envelope she dropped when his eye catches a familiar set of characters.
