Summary:

Izuku is so naively excited when he is accepted into the Yūei precinct, it was the one his all time hero Toshinori had worked at for years. He thought he hit the jackpot when his chief assigned him to work with Katsuki Bakugou of all people.

But what started off as a dream slowly becomes a nightmare when he attracts the eye of a certain criminal.

Izuku smiled brightly as the chief of police was introducing him. Completely naive and innocent, simply happy to be able to finally achieve his dream job even after years of being told he'd never be able to become a cop.

"This is Izuku Midoriya, be nice to him," Aizawa sighed, sounding rather tired and rather wanting to be anywhere other than here. "I expect everyone to behave themselves. Your desk is over there, next to Bakugou."

Izuku's green eyes widened as the chief pointed towards a blond wolf, the cocky smirk already playing on his lips. Izuku knew exactly who he was. He was one of the faces of Yūei and the most desired single alpha in the whole city of Musutafu. Izuku bit the inside of his cheek, hoping his naive excitement wasn't so obvious.

The bunny took his stuff and headed back towards the desk that faced Bakugou's, only divided by a small, thin wall. Those sharp ruby eyes following his every movement, like a predator learning its prey's behavior before it snatched it up.

"Morning mister Bakugou! It's nice to finally meet you," Izuku blurted as he set his box down on his side of the desk. "I've looked up to you for so long, and like it's hard to believe that you're right here! I mean, of course you're here, you work here. But-But you know what I mean."

Katsuki chuckled and nodded, "Yeah? I had heard the boss had hired a prey animal, I didn't expect it to be a cute little bunny."

Izuku's cheeks flushed at the words. Cute? Was Izuku cute? "I, uh, thanks?"

Katsuki's lips curled into a devious smirk but Izuku couldn't read the deviousness behind them, "So, what made such a cute little bunny decide they want such a scary and dangerous job?"

Izuku had to look down, looking up at the predator animal for this long made even his inner prey animal scream and beg to run. As Izuku talked he started pulling his personal things out and started decorating his space the way he liked. "Well, uh, when I was a kid AllMight was my role model and he said...you know, even though he was a lion he said that anyone can be a hero."

"Hm, did Toshinori say something like that?" Katsuki asked as if Izuku made that up.

Izuku reached into the box and pulled out a framed picture, he held it up and showed it to Katsuki with a proud smile, "He did! When I was still a kit he visited my little village! He told me when I asked him that even I can become someone important!"

Katsuki's smirk seemed to sour as he looked at the picture, rather than being impressed he looked annoyed. Izuku fought the urge to mimic the expression and ask why he looked annoyed.

"He probably said that to you because you were a kid and didn't want to hurt your feelings," Katsuki said passively before looking at his computer screen. Izuku held the photo in the air for a moment longer before turning it and setting it on his desk.

The wolf was clearly done talking to the newbie now, Izuku wouldn't admit it out loud that it was kind of upsetting to hear someone he looked up to talk so poorly about his childhood hero. Izuku tried to ignore the upsetting feeling as he finished decorating his desk before sitting down, he frowned as he realized how much bigger this desk and chair were in comparison to the ones he normally used. Prey animals and predator animals not only had a huge diet difference but apparently size difference too. But he was at least used to that at the academy.
