Mias POV:
'Wake up, race day!' Danny cheered, jumping around my room and flinging open my curtains.

'How did you even get in here?' I grumbled, covering my face with my hands.

'Got a spare key. Come on, we've gotta be at the garage in half an hour.' He laughed, his hands on his hips to prove a point.

'I'm getting up.' I protested, sitting up and looking at him.

'Meet me down in the lobby in 15, I'll take you in my car.' He said, heading for the door.

'Why aren't I allowed a car over here? I hate having to rely on you guys.' I complained.

'I'll get you one, just, get ready!' He shouted, not even turning back to look at me as he closed the door.

I got out of bed and threw on a nice dress, it was blue and strapless with a slit in one side of the leg. I put on my watch from both Max and George, and a few necklaces, before grabbing a bag and sliding my shoes on.

I put my mascara in my bag, planning on doing it in the car, and headed out of the door.

The weather was beautiful so I knew I'd not need a coat, and so I pulled my sunglasses down over my eyes and walked towards the front entrance, where my brother had said he'd meet me.

As promised, there he was, swinging his keys around his fingers. Charles was there too, but I couldn't react because my brother didn't know anything about the conference.

'Morning, bella.' He said, glaring at me, almost daring me to respond to him.

I didn't, climbing into the front of my brothers car and lifting my glasses up, getting out my mascara and starting to apply it.

'How you feeling, Danny?' I asked my brother, noticing his leg softly bouncing up and down as he drove.

'I don't have a good feeling about this one.' He mumbled.

'Oh come on, you're not exactly in the best car. I bet if they swapped you and Max out, you'd be winning all the time.' I smiled.

'We've just gotta hope I get a better contract sooner rather than later.' He smiled.

'You will.'

'How are you feeling, Charles?' Danny asked, giving me a weird look when I chose to sit in silence rather than ask the man in the back of the car if he was okay.

'I'm hoping it's a good race.' Was all he said.

I pulled my sunglasses back down and leant back in my seat, watching as my brother interacted with all of the security at the gates of the track.

'You filming today Mia?' Charles asked.

'Mhm.'

'Make sure you get my win then.' He said, hoarsely, leaning forward so that he could reach his hand down the side of the seat, running his warm fingers along my watch.

I kept facing forwards, knowing my brother would've finished his conversation in seconds and see Charles reaching for me down the gap in the seats.

We all got out of the car silently and I flung my bag over my shoulder, reaching for my brothers hand as the paparazzi got closer and closer. Daniel didn't notice me reaching for him, and just before I was stampeded, Charles grabbed my arm and pulled me close.

Whilst I was thankful, I really wasn't, because now he was showing me off to the public once again, which caused his last freakout. Because of a girlfriend he said he'd never had.

'Stay close and you'll be fine, okay?' He mumbled in my ear, smiling softly when I did nothing but nod at him, still avoiding his eyes.

'Charles, do you have anything to say about Layla's new job?' Voices called after us.
