Mias POV: 'We've done some tests and I'm happy to let you know that both you and the baby are doing perfectly well.' A doctor said, standing in the doorway, offering me a smile.
'Baby?' Charles asked, through a whispered breath.
First of all. 'Perfectly well.' Is not the word I would use to describe my condition. And did he really just say baby?
He looked down at his sheet before quickly turning red.
'I offer my deepest apologies, I'm in the wrong room. Your doctor will be along shortly.' He said, leaving the room is just as much as a hurry as he has arrived.
Me and Charles sat in silence for a few moments. I was just in so much pain, and also shocked that I had believed for a second I was pregnant.
'What the fuck? I'm going to go and find out his name because who the fuck comes in with news like that without checking?' Daniel said, angrily leaving the room.
I couldn't tell if he'd done that out of respect to me or because he could see the look in my boyfriends eyes.
'Are you alright?' I asked, reaching for his hand.
'I'm just shocked at the fact I didn't feel anything negative when I thought you were pregnant.' He said, shaking his head as if what he'd said was silly.
'Neither did I, Charles.' I assured him.
'The thought of it happening for real doesn't scare me.' He said, giving my hand a squeeze.
'Not at all?'
'The only thing I felt was the need to keep you protected.' He insisted.
'Oh, Charles.' I sighed, pulling his head into my chest, smiling when I felt him leave little kisses on my neck.
'Just knowing I'm the lucky man that is going to be able to have a family with you is enough for me right now.' He said, softly.
'We've already got a house waiting for us in Monaco when this is all done, it's sooner than it seems.' I smiled.
'You're unreal.' He mumbled, giving me two quick kisses on the lips.
'You'd better go and shower, you look like you've been through it with your missing tie and untucked shirt.' I said, looking at him.
'I don't want to leave you.' He said, sharply.
'Have a shower here, it's just through that door.' I said.
'I'll be 5 minutes, okay? And only because you're scary when you're insistent.' He joked, passing me my phone as I had asked of him.
