Mias POV:
It was the morning of the Monaco race and guess who was sitting in his car, the biggest grin on his face despite being unable to move the entire right hand side of his body?

Charles was.

'It's my home race amore, of course I'm gonna do it.'

He was so excited that I didn't want to steal this from him, but he was already so injured and I was riddled with anxiety, having barely slept the night before. I had spent the night on his sofa though, telling him that I fell asleep there after going to get a drink, but in reality, not wanting to keep him awake.

'Just be careful.' I warned, eyebrows raised at him as he reached his arm out to grab a drink.

'How are you liking Monaco?' He asked, clearly trying to change the subject.

'It's pretty here. My favourite place I've been to this year.' I smiled, looking out on the open water on the other side of the track.

'Just you wait until I give you a tour.' He winked.

'Oh yeah, when's that happening?' I asked, leaning back in my chair.

'Tomorrow morning, right after you've let me film a garage tour with you.' He grinned.

'Oh, she's filming a garage tour with you, finally?' Carlos called, from the garage next door.

'Shut up!' Charles warned.

'Did you see how well ours did?' He teased.

I gave Charles the I told you so face and he stuck his middle finger up at me, pulling it back down when he saw the look on my face.

'Get out there and smash it, and then come straight to me, please.' I said, giving his hand a squeeze.

'Miss me already?' Charles laughed.

'A little.' I pouted, leaning down into the car and pushing my lips out to him, encouraging him to kiss them.

He reached his hand up to hold me by the jaw, giving me a few soft kisses before letting go, rushing to kiss me on the forehead before I moved away.

'You're the first person I wanna see after a race, love. I'll be there.' He smiled, pulling down his helmet.

He was in race mode now and i knew I'd not hear anything else from him, so I headed over to the stands, smiling when I saw that Lucas was standing holding a bag of popcorn for me this time.

'This has become a regular thing.' I smiled.

'I'm quite enjoying myself. Don't tell Charles, though. He thinks I'm strictly business.' He winked.

'He's bruised bad. I'm worried about him.' I said, staring forwards at the track as the race started, bounding my knee up and down out of habit.

'He knows he won't be able to get on the podium today that's for sure. But all of his friends and family are here, there's no way he'd miss out on his home race.' He said, giving my shoulder a squeeze.

'His friends and family?' I asked, nervously.

'Yeah, his mum and two brothers are sitting right opposite us, actually.' He said, squinting as he pointed across the track and to the other side.

'You don't think?'

'Everyone in his family know about you, Mia. You should hear him talk about you on the phone.' He chuckled.

I started to readjust my hair, making Lucas laugh harder. I was under no illusion that his brothers and mum were going to be there, which was stupid of me really considering it was his home race.
