Mia's POV:
We took our time exploring the city, and headed back to the hotel at around 2pm. I knew id have to rush to get all of my luggage down to the lobby and then get ready for my date, but I had just enough time to do it all before Charles arrived at my door.

The dress he'd chosen was a beautiful long, black, skintight dress, and I'm so glad he'd not opted for something overdressed, as he always seemed to dress down for every single occasion and its made me look like I was attending the MET.

'Have I interrupted some sort of self appreciation moment?' Charles asked from the doorway, snapping me out of my thoughts to realise id been staring at myself in the mirror.

'I was actually in such deep thought about how little you dress up for any event.' I shot back, smiling when I turned to take him all in.

'Oh shush, come on, we have got to get going.' He said, taking my hand and leading me down the stairs, out to a taxi this time.

'You're not driving?' I asked, getting into the car and smiling at the rare occasion of him being able to sit with me and not have to worry about driving.

It was as if he'd read my mind, putting on his seatbelt before grabbing my legs and swinging them over his, moving his hand to my thigh.

'Are you excited to get to Canada? We've been here nearly a week.' Charles spoke softly, keeping his voice down so that the driver wouldn't hear us.

I am, it'll be good I'm sure.' I smiled softly, my mind drifting back to the ringing phone the night before.

Charles frowned, holding my chin with two fingers and flicking my face up to look at him.

'I thought you'd be more excited to visit a country that you've never been to before.' He said suspiciously.

'Im just tired, it's been a long day. Where are we going?' I asked, trying to change the subject.

He watched me closely for a second before looking out of the window pointing to a lake we were driving alongside. Behind the lake towered huge rocks, that looked almost too incredible to have formed naturally. Id seen this place online.

'We're here for a picnic, I didn't think you'd want to miss this before we left and you had to wait until next season to visit.' He said, opening the car door for me and helping me out, leading me up a track.

'Ive seen photos, Danny came here last year.' I said, stepping carefully to avoid piercing my new heels with the sharp rocks.

'We had a day off and decided to come cliff jumping. It was fun until Yuki swallowed too much lake water he was sick, and Lewis shared our location and were chased away by police who aggressively told us it's illegal to swim here.' He chuckled to himself at the memory.

'Ah yes, the infamous lake trip. I had no idea it was here.' I laughed.

'It was fun but i'd not do it again. Everyone had emergency team meetings the next day on respect. Apparently Azerbaijan were threatening to cancel this years race because of it.' He responded.

'And yet here you are.' I smiled.

'Here we are.' He responded, stopping on the edge of the lake, allowing me a few seconds to take in the pretty setup before sitting down.

'Wow it really is beautiful, are you sure you don't want to swim?' I asked, half joking.

'We'll swim love, just open the box.' Charles said mysteriously, sitting back to watch.

I flipped the small box over in my hand, admiring the pretty bow, about to open it when I heard the phone ring, and frowned when I realised it was his.

He silenced it and put it down, urging me to continue, but I couldn't. My eyes were burning holes into his phone and he knew it.

'Let's swim, angel.' he offered, taking off his shirt and standing up, taking my hand.

I agreed to let there subject drop for the rest of the date, as this was a once in a lifetime experience and I didn't want it ruined by anyone.

'I can't ruin this brand new dress.' I said, looking at the water.

'Sure you can, besides, I'll let you wear my shirt on the way home.' He shrugged as if he'd NOT left the price tag on the box.

'Charles.' I argued.

'Get in.' He interrupted, holding his hand out to me from in the water.

I smiled, following him in and allowing him to wrap my legs around his waist, spinning us slowly in the water.

'Tell me more about the last time you came here.' I asked, looking around at the now empty lake, imagining a group of 20 menacing f1 drivers causing havoc in this exact spot I was now in.

'George suggested it, he said he'd been told by his tour guide the day before it was a peaceful spot. Alex heard him telling Lewis and within minutes it was a group plan, it was good fun, I think it was the last time we all hung out properly.' He responded, moving a wet hair from my face.

'What do you mean? You were all together at my birthday.' I frowned.

'I know we were and it was nice, but it was in public, and unless were in our houses or in the middle of the woods like we were here, nobody really likes to speak too much outside of the box were all in.' He responded.

'Im so proud of you.' I whispered.

'And i'm so proud of you too my love.' He smiled, kissing me softly once on the lips and then a second time on the nose.

'Can I ask you something? and I don't want you to be mad or think Im accusing you of anything.' I said, my mind going back to the phone.

He looked so deep into my eyes it almost felt like he was reading my mind again, and I was sure he was by what he said next.

'I wanted it to be a surprise but I have felt the distance you've been trying to put between us last night.' He said softly.

'I've not. Don't tell me if it'll ruin anything.' I protested.

'On the way to the race in Monaco I asked the driver to take the back route to go past a house i'd always admired since I was a kid. it was a rundown mansion, with land, almost like a farmhouse.' He started.

I sat in awe as I listened, weight lifting from my chest already.

'I remembered it for the purple flowers growing up the wall all the way to the top floor, and one day I knew i'd buy it.'

'And you did?' I whispered, my heart speeding up.

'I did. they started work on it last week. I have someone taking care of the work going on whilst I'm away, but he's useless.' Charles joked.

'Thats so exciting, wow i'm so happy for you.' I exclaimed.

'It's ours. Whenever you want it. I want it to be our home.' He said, pulling me out of the water and passing me his shirt.

'Open the box, love.'

I did as he said this time, my eyes tearing up at the house key starting back up at me, with the letters C and M engraved in pretty writing on the front.

'Charles are you sure that you want this because the second I see this beautiful house I won't want to leave.' I laughed, wiping away my tears.

'I want it all with you. I knew it would be my family home, my forever home, now I know I want that with you.'
