Mias POV:
I left the party the second I heard. I didn't even have time to find Charles. I disappeared into the first taxi I could found and headed back to the hotel.I was tipsy but I was sober enough to understand that my brother needed me more than that party did.
When I arrived back at the hotel I thought over and over about what I was going to say. But that all went to pot when he opened the door, smiling at me.
'Why are you smiling?'
'Mia. Sit down, let me explain.' He sighed.
Now I really was wondering what had happened. Had he been kicked or did he decide to leave? I wanted him to be happy and if that was without a team then so be it. But he'd not be happy without a team. I knew that better than anyone.
'The car is so unsuited to me. You've seen how I'm driving. I'm so much better than that and I won't continue to drive when I'm feeling like I'm ruining my own reputation.' He began.
'Nobody is looking at you different for struggling with a car.' I insisted.
'I know. But me and the team decided it was better for me to leave. I'm going to race for the rest of the year but what happens after that I'm not too sure.' He said.
'And how are you feeling?' I asked, softly.
'A bit rubbish. But they're paying me £18m to leave before my contract is up, and I still get to race this year. So it could be worse.' He nudged me, giving me a cheeky grin.
'Daniel it's not about the money. What if you don't get a team again?'
'Then I've had a good run. I'll find a team. I want to go back to red bull.' He said, making my jaw drop to the floor.
'You want to go back?'
He nodded. Furrowing his eyebrows at the sound of a commotion down the hall.
'I don't know where she went!'
'Why weren't you watching her!'
Daniel stood up and headed to the door, opening it and stepping back when Charles almost came hurling in.
'Oh bella, fuck you're here.' He exclaimed, grabbing me by both shoulders.
'What's going on?' I asked, slowly.
'Someone said they'd seen Pierre hurl you into the back of a taxi. We had no idea where you went.' He said, his heart still beating extremely heavily.
'If anything I hurled Pierre into the back of a taxi.' I laughed.
He looked at me, straight faced, letting me know that my joke wasn't funny. That's when he looked over at my brother, holding his hand out to shake his.
'I'm so sorry, Danny.'
'Don't be sorry. I'll be back.' My brother said, shaking his hand firmly.
Charles looked between me and my brother, as if wondering if now was a good time to pull me away. Daniel seemed to notice, holding his hand out to Charles.
'I'm gonna get some sleep. Don't drink too much if you're going back to that party.' Daniel warned.
'I'm all partied out.' I yawned, giving my brother one last hug before following Charles down the hallway, back to my room.
'Why are you so jumpy tonight?' I asked, waiting until we were out of earshot of my brother.
'I was worried about you. You didn't even think to tell me where you'd gone?' He asked.
'I couldn't find you.'
He bit down on his lip nervously, and that made me freeze. I'd seen that exact look before. It was the same face he'd pulled before he decided on telling me how much money he'd given to pay me off.
'What have you done?' I asked, slowly.
I instinctively pulled away. I needed the full story. I wasn't going to sit and hold his hand whilst he lied.
'I've got a race ban. For a week. Because of Pierre.' He said, slowly.
'What do you mean because of Pierre? Because of the fight you had the other day?' I questioned.
'The one we had tonight.' He mumbled.
'Charles I don't understand this whole thing going on between you two.' I sighed.
'I'm in love with you. I'd make you my wife if it wasn't too soon, and he's going to fuck it up
For me.' He said, raising his voice a little.'How? I know what he did in the past was shitty but we're not going to get any better if you punch him every time he throws a dig at me!' I exclaimed.
'I will punch anyone who ever throws a dig at you, do you understand?' He asked, pointing his finger at me, stepping closer and wrapping his arm tight around my waist.
I stayed silent.
'It is so fucking scary loving someone how I love you. All I think about, day and night is quitting my job and settling down with you. I hate how worried you get watching me race. I'd give it all up just to give you a days worth of peace.' He said, pulling me close and resting his head on my shoulder.
'Don't. Im getting better. I don't want you to give this up for me, I'd never even dream of it.' I warned him.
'I'll do it, just ask. Ask me to and I'll do it.' He said, stepping back and showing me he really meant it.
'No. I won't.'
'The day, and I mean the exact fucking day you ever fall pregnant, I'm quitting. I don't want to ever put our family at risk of losing me. So you may not ask now, but the day we decide to start a family, I'll do it.' He responded seriously.
I knew I wasn't going to be able to argue it, and I didn't want to. I didn't ever want my kids to lose a father the same way my cousins lost theirs. And so his words helped me find a little peace.
But for now we still had a Pierre issue to sort out and my race anxiety to get over.
'Can we go to bed? Please?' I asked, putting my now frizzy hair in a bun and reaching for my makeup remover.
'Yes. Let's go to bed.' He said softly, giving me a kiss on the cheek and moving away, allowing me to get ready but watching me from a distance.
'Take off your dress.' He said suddenly, standing behind me at the bathroom mirror.
'What?' I stuttered, taken aback and slightly turned on.
'Take it off, love. Or I'll just lift it up and slip in underneath.' He said, holding his tshirt up with his teeth whilst he undid his belt, giving me the perfect view of his abs.
'Fuck.' I mumbled, staring at him in the mirror.
He flashed me a cocky smile, using the belt he'd just pulled from around his waist and snaking it around my wrists, pulling tightly to keep them secure.
'Charles.' I gasped, smiling when my face met the cold sink, as he pushed my face forward and lifted my dress up.
'You're mine. You hear me?' He said, hoarsely, his voice turning me on almost instantly.
'Yes.'
'Good girl.'
