Mias POV:
I walked right past. Charles reached out for my hand, and I let him squeeze it momentarily, and then walked right past. I knew i had to be the bigger person and I couldn't do that if I had  to stand around and watch. I didn't leave completely though, tapping into my inner Charles, I sat in the control room, watching the cctv.

I had to be a grown up. We were all adults. It was okay if they spoke. But deep down this hurt more than any of the times Pierre had tried to kill me. Which was approximately 4.

He took a seat besides Carlos, and she reached for his arm. I watched as he gave her nothing less than a glare, putting his headphones on, ignoring every single word she said. Carlos was trying to make friendly conversation, but to Charles, she wasn't even there.

I sighed a heavy sigh of relief. I trusted him whole heartedly, and would not have been able to be angry even if they had spoken. He had to be friendly. But Charles was not being friendly.

He sat twiddling his engagement finger the entire time. I winced when I saw that this interaction had made it onto the big screen.  Charles blatantly ignoring her as she spoke at him.

'Someone get her out of there.' A mechanic mumbled next to me, on his phone; barely paying attention to what was happening.

'She's here all week unfortunately.' I responded.

He looked up at me, taken aback to hear my voice.

'Fuck, how you feeling about it?' He asked.

'I'm fine, he's shown me I can trust him.' I shrugged.

'We're all going out tonight, are you guys coming?' He asked.

'We'll have to show our faces, yeah.' I sighed.

He looked down at his watch and stood up.

'I'll see you around, keep him under control, please. Makes my job easier.' He laughed.

I saluted him, heading back to the car, Charles still ignoring her as I walked past him. He grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me close, kissing me softly a couple of times before pulling off his headphones.

She was stood right next to me.

'Practice is in 5 minutes. Go and grab your team and bring them here, okay?' He said, firmly.

'Okay.'

'I love you so much, I love life with you. I'm doing this for you okay?' He said, kissing me a few more times.

'I love you, drive safe.' I smiled, squeezing his hand and watching as he walked away.

'He's nice for the first 6 months.' She smiled, not even looking at me.

I turned to look at her, a frown on my face.

'It's been a lot longer than 6 months.' I retorted.

'Well, congratulations on your little love story but it won't last long. Charles doesn't sit still.' She shrugged.

'Considering I've been dating him longer than you even knew him, I'd not be so sure.' I grinned sarcastically, walking back to the meeting room I'd been in before, still angry.

I put my head in my hands, the room now empty as they'd all left with Arthur. I wanted to leave. This was all too much for me, and barely about the racing anymore. I couldn't be here for my brother like I wanted to. I wanted to text Charles and beg to go home, but he was racing.

The door opened and Arthur walked in, swearing under his breath before noticing I was there too.

'Oh, hi. Sorry, I was just talking about how fucking annoying they are. Bryce Hall, Jesus fucking Christ he didn't stop talking.' He rolled his eyes, sitting besides me.
